They lost 2-1 in the finals. There weren't any coaches at that game after all. I guess they all went home before the final. So...we're waiting to see if anyone new saw him and liked him and we're waiting to talk again to the Holy Cross coach. While Michael was playing, I was on the phone talking to one of those imaginary online friends who went to Holy Cross for two years. Since her academic interests were similar to Michael's and since her faith was as important, the conversation was very fruitful.I was encouraged academically and discouraged otherwise. Now, we just need to see what the coach says and if the place has changed much in 15 years since my friend was there. Should be an interesting week or so.

Even though I've been VERY quiet this season, know that you and Michael and his discernment were in my prayers. I just thought I'd mention that maybe Holy Cross needs Michael for more than soccer? If they're not quite as orthodox as they should be, maybe Michael will leaven the loaf? God does work in mysterious ways!

I've been praying, Elizabeth. My Michael went to a less than orthodox university and he was the salt and light for several friends he met there - one converted to the Church and is discerning a religious vocation now. I'll be remembering you all in my rosary intentions this week.

I'm continuing prayers for Michael. It's so hard a decision. I was the eldest in a homeschooled family, very close to my mother, and that was a really big factor in the process.
