Thank you all so much for praying for baby Connor yesterday. His surgery was a success. Please continue to pray during his recovery period. Here is the note I received from his aunt.
Connor’s surgery was a success! The doctors are pleased with the way
everything turned out. They say that the next 48 hours are critical. The
heart muscle is different from every other muscle in how it reacts to
trauma. With the heart the swelling doesn’t occur until hours after. So if
you don’t mind, continue your prayers. I plan on going down to see him
Saturday, so I’ll send another e-mail then.
Also, Connors surgery didn’t take place until evening, due to a little girl
before him who suffered complications. My brother-in-law asked that you keep
her in your prayers as well.

I sent the link to this thread to Connor's aunt and she sent it on to her brother-in-law, Connor's father. She said it has been a great support to them.
She had wonderful news. Tonight at 9pm is officially the 48 recovery mark and Connor's mother will be able to finally hold him! The way things look now, Connor will be going home in 10 days.
Thank you so much for all of your prayers and responses to this thread. Please keep this little one in your prayers. They have been so powerful.

Katherine, this is great news! I'm sure Connor's mom is overcome with joy to know that things are looking so positive. I'm still praying!

I received another update on Baby Connor this morning. Thanks for all of the prayers.
What a Miracle! I got to see Connor today and wow does he look great. Last
week when I saw him, his color was poor, he had his eyes scrunched closed
and was lethargic. Today, he had his eyes wide open and was moving his head
and arms around. He looks a bit like a boxer after a long fight. His eyes
are both blood shot and black and blue from the entire trauma, and of course
he has his surgery wound, but despite that – he is acting like a baby should
now. . I felt sorry for him when he got the hiccups; he made a face like
that hurt a little. He had been on 6 or so medicines and is down to just one
now. All his cords and tubes are all gone now, except for oxygen to his
nose, and that has been decreased to just 30% now. He is still a very sick
boy and in the intensive care unit, but he’s doing great. God has really
blessed him, thanks to everyone’s diligent prayers. I will let you know when
he gets to come home, but it looks like another 10 days. Of course, they
will have to be careful with him for the next 2 months. However, the doctors
predict that this was it and no more surgeries will be required and he
should go on to do everything any other kid is able to do. Thank you so much
for your continued prayers! God is listening.
