Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Cay,
Count on my prayers for Stacy and the safe delivery of her baby. Also for the soul of this young boy as well as the consolation of those who are grieving because of this tragedy.

Cay,

I'm going to start the Chaplet of Divine Mercy soon.

You have my prayers.

Thank you all for your prayers.

Our new baby nephew was born at 11:47 yesterday morning. He's beautiful with a head full of dark hair.

He had to be taken early due to our niece having lots of medical problems (including high blood pressure, toxemia, and a heart problem). But he's completely healthy and no need for any medical intervention.

Please keep Kayleigh in your prayers and all those involved. The boy's wake is today and the funeral is tomorrow. They had to move the funeral to the cathedral due to the amount of people attending.

One of the kids said, "Yeah, even if you were a nobody in school, M. knew who you were."      It's so terribly sad.

Kayleigh's doing well but has crying spells that are heartbreaking for a mother to watch. I thought seeing her new little cousin yesterday would lift her spirits but it's only her second up-close experience with death (her first being her Meme when she turned 13), it's "one of her own" so close in age. She knows all the right answers and knows there's a God and a heaven. But she's having trouble "wrapping her mind around it."

One of the girls at school said they all needed to get over it and move on. M. wouldn't have wanted them all crying and sad. Kayleigh thought the girl's remark was poor timing. Even the teacher in the class they shared (who is a coach) broke down crying.

I told her that grieving is a human emotion and perfectly acceptable. Even Christ grieved for his friend.

She went to his blog last night and his theme song was Tim McGraw's "Live Like You Were Dying".

He truly did too.

Kayleigh cried through the whole song.

Prayers, Cay.

I'm glad to hear the labor and delivery went well.
