This has been such a sad evening.  My dear friend, Major David G. Taylor was killed in action yesterday in Iraq. He was on a patrol and his vehicle ran over an IED. He leaves behind his wife and 4 month old son.
I can't begin to tell you the anguish I feel. Dave was like a brother to me. Please pray for his soul. Can someone give me a good prayer for my kids to say for him?

KC,
I am so sorry to hear about your friend Dave. This war touches us hideously and personally, and all of your family and his are in my prayers.
I don't know any special prayers for him specifically, aside from the common prayer for the souls of the faithful departed. My kids love the prayer of St. Gertrude because we read that praying it 50 times would send a baseball stadium of souls to heaven. It gave them a joyful focus when praying for the dead. Here a link.

Dear KC,
I am so very sorry about your friend and know your pain all too well. One of our dearest friends, one closer than a brother to my husband and godfather to our almost 9 year old, was killed 3 years ago this Nov. 3rd when his helicopter was shot down in Iraq. We miss him everyday and many times I still end up in tears when something reminds me of him.
Give yourself time to grieve; it is a deep pain and not only are you mourning the loss of your friend, feeling sorrow for his wife and baby, but you have had the thing that is always in your unspoken fears happen to someone close to you. Now that fear is real and the worry for your husband is all the more intense. Also know that your children will be having a hard time and worrying even more for their daddy.
I will be praying for Dave's soul, his family and for you and your family. My heart is broken for all of you.

Praying for you and your family and also for his family. How very,very sad. I don't understand any reason for all of this loss of life. For what?,Ya know??? ANYWAY, you will all definitely be in our prayers along w/all soldiers everywhere.

I am so sorry. My son just emailed me and told me about this he is in Iraq right now. Only has been there a week. Our family will pray for him and his family and for all who suffering from this loss.
