Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

So relieved you are home, but I hope you are still going to follow up with a doctor visit? (Excuse my nose, it gets into other people's business when I am concerned for them...)

I'm so glad you're home -- when I saw your response on the advent wreath post, I knew you must be better. We'll continue to keep you in our prayers and hope they soon find out what and why and how to prevent it happening again!

oh jenn, so glad you're home!!! and relieved to hear that they found nothing.

don't know if you'll remember but i had a similar episode in january (minus the blackout) where i had chest and arm "funny feeling" and went to ER. they found nothing either.

at my follow-up appointment ( months later) our primary performed an EKG and a blood test and everything came back normal. but i still have chest pain from time to time.

i hate to mention this as it might worry you more than help you, but i'm taking the risk in case it helps. my mom, around this age, started feeling things like this which now (she's 72) she attributed to being pre-menopausal and starting to feel different things, just as part of "getting old". the chest pain she said was really mostly gas -- she got them regularly from around age 38 (my age now) until she was 50+, but she changed her tune last year after getting a stent put in and told me the pain was probably related to a heart condition -- she did have high BP starting around 40. might be worth monitoring BP on a regular basis if you've got a sphygmomanometer in the house (i've been planning to get one, but have been procrastinating). i've also switched to a mostly vegetarian diet since that episode in january. anyway, i'm blabbing on too much. i hope what i wrote here doesn't make you nervous or anything. we'll keep praying and hope you find answers soon.

WOW Jenn, what an awful way to spend the afternoon!

I'm glad to hear you're feeling better now and I will pray that your doctors figure out what happened.

Have you ever heard of "migraine without headache"? I've had them and the first one sent me to the hospital as it was so scary. My left arm was going numb and the tingling and numbness spread to the left side of my body. The doctor at the hospital put me through a bunch of tests for stroke, despite the fact that I was only in my late twenties. As I passed them all, he diagnosed it as a "headache free migraine".

The reason I share this is to hopefully help you figure out what happened. It probably wasn't this as I didn't experience chest pains but it might be worth googling...

Praying for you.

Jenn,

I didn't see this until right now. Oh,my! I am so sorry for all you went through. Poor thing. Very scary.

Please be assured of our prayers here. Keep us updated and take care of yourself.

Thanks to Fuzzy for letting us know.

I agree with what Taffy said same thing happened to my friend's sister last January. She went to neurologist and got on some meds. which really helped.

Love and prayers,

Mb

Oh Jenn, I don't know how I missed this thread yesterday - I so wish I had seen it so I could have added my prayers. Funnily enough I thought of you a few times yesterday ... But please know I am praying for you now and we will continue to do so as long as you need them. I am so sorry you had to go through something so frightening. I can't imagine.

How are you feeling today?

Michelle...not offended at all. Making the appointment. I'm a little bit nervous today...how do I know it won't happen again? It seems like it was an irrhythmia, but isolated. The ambulance showed a small one, but nothing on the hospitial EKG.

I was hoping someone had some similiar experiences that they could share to maybe hunt things down, so thanks Stef, Bridget and Taffy.

I found this thread very late last night and have been thinking about you and praying for you ever since. The first thing I thought of this morning was you and yesterday's horrible ordeal.

I am praying hard for you today, dear friend.

Jenn!!!

I'm so sorry I wasn't here to pray initially, I'm coming here less frequently (due to the storm). I'm SO GLAD you're back home, and they found nothing serious! I will pray that they will find the cause, and that you will be OK. How scary!!!

Oh Jenn, I'm not sure how I missed this yesterday! I'm glad you are home - make sure you are actually resting ( she says knowing you have a three year old). I will continue to pray for your health.
