I don't want to take a lot of time on this, but I'll tell you that the oscillator did not work for Betsy. She is now back on the regular vent and stable for the moment. Either her lungs need to heal really fast, or we're about finished. Robert is on his way up from work, and Mandy is bringing the boys. This is really hard, and we just need a lot of prayers.

Hi all,
Could someone place a link to Betsy's carepage. We have been seaching with no luck. We want to follower her situation closely. We have been offering Masses and lots of prayers/roseries. All my children are praying so hard for her.
If someone could help that would be very helpful.

Unfortunately, being the novice that I am, I cannot give you a direct link. But, if you use www.carepages.com, you should be able to access the site. Then, you put the child's name (NO SPACES). You will have to register first, but it is a very simple process. Once you have access, you can choose to be notified of updates. I have had several friends use this system when they had children in various hospitals. It is a brilliant system for keeping all up-to-date, and, from what I understand, is very user-friendly.

Thank you, I'll try what you have recommended. I wish we had a system like that in Australia. It would have been a great help to my family when we had our little boy in hospital.

I have been keeping a vigil of sorts - loading and reloading Betsy's carepage, checking for an update.  Betsy's mom just posted one

It is finished. At 9:50pm tonight, Elizabeth Anne Clare Bruton had a peaceful death, and is now resting in the arms of our Lord.
We thank you for all your prayers and support. Arrangements for her funeral will be made over the weekend, and I will post them here.

My heart is breaking for this family. I can only imagine the suffering they are, and will continue to endure forever. My heart is rejoicing for their sweet, precious Betsy. May she rest in peace, and may her family find that peace in our Lord in His perfect time, looking forward to the day when they can hold their little one in their arms once again in glory.

This was just heartbreaking to read this morning. The Brutons are amazing. They live close to me and I've had the privilege of meeting them on several occasions. Their faith is inspiring. As Elizabeth said on her blog yesterday (sorry Elizabeth for the heavy edit and paraphrasing), our goal is to get our children to Heaven, period (please read the entry if you haven't already). The Brutons have done that and God is pleased.
