I am begging a few quick prayers for Libby, who has a competition tomorrow. I know it's not serious, but if you could all just pray (at about 2:25  ) that she does her best, that would be great. There are only 5 competitors this time, as the concerto is very difficult...but they are all amazing players. The really scary part--she is using a borrowed (expensive) bow, and if she wins, we'll probably have to buy it  . It was an emergency loan (she has practiced so hard her bow has lost its tension), and the difference in her playing is stunning.
Hey, if she wins, you are all invited!

We were so honored to hear her play live. I wish we could hear the competition. We'll all pray the Angelus at lunch (2pm your time!).

Whoa...........I got the whisper in my ear too! At 12:29 MST. I asked by Guardian Angel last night to remind me on time. We prayed the Angelus x 6!! Let us know hear?

Argh! She did not win  , and neither did her friend in the same studio. They consoled each other, though. As usual, the hardest part is sitting in orchestra while the winner plays through for the first time. But it's such a good experience to play before judges, and they need all the experience they can get. She definitely does not regret trying!
One incredibly nice thing...the guy who used to teach theory at the music school where Libby's younger siblings attend, who just got his DMA, caught her in the hallway and told her to keep trying, saying, "If I had a dollar for every competition I lost, I could buy Bermuda." Totally made her smile.
Thanks, everyone, for praying. She did play her best, and that's the best anyone can do!
