That means a lot to me, Jennifer and Stacy. Thanks for writing.
It's hard to have this belly...it's a reminder....I don't know what God would want....
Still going to wait for now...
Hopefully this weekend....

Nina,
I am so so sorry. I have no experience with a D&C, all of my losses have been lots of sudden bleeding and cramps. I will tell you though, that out of 4 losses, we concieved the very next month and carried to term. We'll see what happens this time around. I am so so sorry Nina. You are in my prayers.

Nina -
After both of my miscarriages I had a D&C. Not sure why we did it with the first, but I became pregnant 6 weeks after -- oh to be so young again! With the second I was 40; when they did the D&C, my OB told dh that he was glad he had done it because there was a LOT of placenta there and it is unlikely it would have passed well, easily, completely, as it was apparently pretty well attached to the uterus. After that time it as 9 months until I conceived again, but by then I was 41, so probably my fertility was not what it had been at 26/27. One good thing about having the D&C was that, since my uterus got completely cleaned out, the bleeding stopped, which I think was less upsetting than having that continue or wondering when it would start/stop, how bad it would get, etc. But that's just me, as far as what I found upsetting or not; I don't think everyone necessarily feels the same way about things like that.
Continuing to pray for you.
Peace,
Nancy

Oh Nina and Lisa, I am so sorry! You are both in our prayers, as are your husbands and families. Lisa, I understand about sparing the children. With our one miscarriage, our younger ds had such a hard time understanding and getting over it. May God grant you all much deserved peace!

We've had 3 miscarriages. The following, part of a prayer by Mother Angelica, is beautiful. I read it on the MODG list some time ago and it still brings comfort:
"You see, the child lives. Instead of the wind he hears the sound of angels singing before My throne. Instead of the beauty that passes he sees everlasting Beauty - he sees My face. He was created and lived a short time so the image of his parents imprinted on his face may stand before Me as their personal intercessor. He knows secrets of Heaven unknown to men on earth. He laughs with a special joy that only the innocent posess. My ways are not the ways of man, I create for My kingdom and each creature fills a place in that Kingdom that could not be filled by another. He was created for My joy and his parents' merits. He has never seen pain or sin. He has never felt hunger or pain. I breathed a soul into a seed, made it grow and called it forth."
Hope that is helpful. God bless you with His perfect peace Nina and Lisa.
Becky

Nina,
When I started my miscarriage, my doctor gave me 3 days to go through everything before he was going to do a D&C. We were moving that week from Vegas to WA.
(Miscarriage started when movers pulled up Monday and we were leaving that Friday)
The dr. didn't want to intervene, but wouldn't let me leave until he could clear me.
He gave me three choices:
1)let my body do its job, HOWEVER I had 3 days
2)Misoprostal -- pills inserted that brought on labor
3)D&C
In my mind, my body had all that time (the four weeks I carried, but didn't know my baby had already gone to Our Lord), but I still hadn't completed the miscarried.
Knowing I only had 3 days or the D&C, I went with the Misoprostal. It wasn't "natural", but it was less intervention. (No D&C) It was over within 24hours.
Both you & Lisa continue to be in my prayers.

Thank you everyone for your prayers!
Michaela, thank you for posting about the course you chose!
Even this AM I asked my husband if he thought I should have chosen the Misoprostal (since he was commenting that it was a bummer that I was in on-and-off again pain, on- and-off bleeding, etc.) but he said: NO, nature will take its course, your body knows what to do. And in my case, for now, I guess that's true. We're back to just teeny little black pieces...nothing frank red, haven't had one clot. My first miscarriage was so simple compared to this....I guess it could take a while, huh?
Anyway, as if you all want to hear about the gory details....bleh. Sorry!

Nina and Lisa, so sorry for yur loss.
In answer to your original questions.. yes, we've had several m/c-ed pregnancies.
I found this picture to be a comfort to me and a great aid in explaining things to my little ones. The painter died a while back, so I don't know if you can get prints anymore. I hope so.
God bless,

Lisa, how are you?
My children are handling things surprisingly well due to all of the prayers.
We are still waiting....

Nina and Lisa, I am so sorry to hear of your miscarriages and I'm praying for consolation for you two.
This really hit home with me, especially after my third consecutive miscarriage- I was adamant that I wouldn't get pregnant just to go through that again...but here I am, 6 weeks pregnant and waiting, hoping....I bawled my eyes out when I read this but it sure gave me a sense of peace. Thank you!
To those who have had baby after baby taken from you, God must love you very much. He knew you would respond the way you did, with Faith, not with bitterness, and you are a LIVING witness to your faith in Him. It would have been so "natural" and understandable for you to say: "No! NO MORE. I can not keep myself open and vulnerable to the attacks, Lord. I can not serve... and I choose to take things out of Your Hands and into my own where I will be safe."
