Nina, I'm just so sorry. I am praying for you and Lisa. I offered up all my pokes and such in the ER yesterday for the intentions on the board.

I'm a little late in answering. I had a suspected miscarriage before our fourth child at about 6 weeks. I had a misscarriage earlier this year with baby #5 at 11 weeks. I was very devastated. So many of you here were so kind to me with your words, advice and prayers.
It still brings tears to my eyes. May you find a balm in Gilead in Christ your Shepherd.

Still nothing....there is a standstill.. I think I am in a state of disbelief.
I keep waking up and remembering.
I went from that bleeding episode to NOTHING----not even one drop yesterday. I would have been 12 weeks tomorrow.
1. Does anyone have advice about how to bring on delivery naturally?
2. Does anyone have any comments about the advantages/disadvantages of the D/C?
3. Lastly, could you please add if you have gone on to have successful pregnancies after a D/C?

Dear Nina,
No advice for #1...I have had 2 D&C's--both at about 8 weeks...after letting myself try to miscarry on my own--my body just hangs on to those tiny babies--doesn't want to let them go.
So, after a week or so, I was getting more and more depressed. I decided to have D&C's...my first one was in 1999--I've delivered three healthy babies since then. I had my second D&C in February of this year...I am now expecting and due in early January.
Be gentle with yourself and try to rest. You are in my daily prayers and sacrifices.

Nina,
My first pregnancy ended in miscarriage, and, although the dear baby was gone, the placenta would not let go. I had a suction d&c at the doctor's office (I finally learned what it was to see *stars* before blacking out.) That attempt was unsuccessful, (I was hemorrhaging,) and I found myself having a surgical d&c on Good Friday, 1987. I became pregnant with my oldest ds the middle of August, 1987.
My second miscarriage required no intervention, but I was not as far along, and had none of the bleeding issues. I became pregnant with my 5th ds the next month.
I don't know how I could have made any of it come on faster or go easier.
The d&c was a neccesity in the first one, but not so in the second. The dr. said I could have one (with the second,) if I wanted, but she encouraged me to wait and see how it went, and all was *fine* (as much as it could be.)
Prayers continuing. And lots of hugs during this very hard time.
God Bless,
Stacy in MI
