Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My little guy is now almost 18months and he's really eating pretty much everythig we are, although in very small pieces I do tend to make him oatmeal for breakfast that he's doing pretty well with his spoon, but here's a small list of his likes (and they're probably repeats from above ):

animal crackers
gorilla munch (organic "kix" type cereal)
toast cut into sticks
noodles & spaghetti
raisins
bagels
bananas
applesauce
cheese
some organic milk and juices

Good lluck, and remember this too shall pass. I remember when my oldest dd at 15 months would ONLY eat goldfish crackers, seemed she might turn orange, thankfully we moved out of that phase!!
Blessings!

So true.

Mine always liked scrambled eggs when they were little. Also, I relaxed when I realized that people that age can literally thrive on two Cheerios a day.

For those who do fish, do you get some kind of low-mercury items only? I used to love tuna fish but there is no fish in my or my kids' diets anymore because I am not sure how much of what kind of fish is really low enough in mercury to be worth it.(Though I have recently been taking fish oil supplements that are purified of mercury. Before that I considered getting some expensive lower-mercury tuna I read about on the Web, but wasn't even sure about that.)

I don't have time to do a lot of research right now but here is a link that seems to well summarize the concerns:

http://www.pbs.org/now/science/mercuryinfish.html

For one thing, it says that a child eating 6 ounces of chunk white tuna per week is consuming almost four times the EPA's recommended limit for mercury.

Fish Oil my kids do actually eat....

Follow the link!

Part of the advertisement:
OmegaBrite KIDZ is a scientifically developed pharmaceutical-quality high EPA Omega-3 supplement, which has undergone molecular distillation to remove the full spectrum of environmental contaminants including any potential heavy metals, pesticides, dioxins and PCB’s. A proprietary Tutti-Frutti or Orange Cream flavor along with a proprietary antioxidant blend is added to ensure great taste, freshness and eliminating any fish oil after taste.

(Oh and btw - my toddler's favorite food right now is crayons! )

Elizabeth,
The kids version: OmegaBrite Kidz Tutti Frutti Flavor says 1/4 tsp contains:
Omega-3 Fatty Acid as TG 700mg
EPA as TG 475mg
DHA as TG 112mg
Other Omega 3s as TG 112mg

I'm typing straight off my label and I dbl checked my numbers. I'm no fish oil expert, basically all I know is that the taste is very mild so my kids don't kick up a huge fuss. HTH!

Theresa, When we do eat tuna, we opt for Tongol, which has been shown to have significantly lower to no levels of mercury. (much smaller variety of tuna, caught much younger, less exposer to mercury)

Just like Martha, my kids of all ages eat whatever we eat, I just cut or mash it according to age.
