Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Here's the update:
My midwife prayed all weekend that I would NOT go into labor. The carefully chosen backup OB was out of town and his stand-in is not real amenable to VBACs. Today's back up is better but still not the ideal. The ideal is Molly's OB who is back on tomorrow morning at 8:00. We are going to reassess for induction Wednesday at 7:30 AM. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your prayers!

Oh, Elizabeth! And this would put the baby's birth on the traditional feast for St. Therese (Oct 3rd)!

Still praying that all works out well -- we're very excited for you.

Hi Elizabeth,

I have been praying for your intentions quite a bit...I always get confused with St. Therese's Feast day, since I attend the Latin Mass, our calendar shows Wednesday, (like what was discussed previously) as her Feast Day, but I figure as great as a Saint as she is, she should just have the whole week!!!! I think our Sweet Friend, the Little Flower, is smiling down on you and baby.

Praying for many roses on Wednesday,

4 Lads' Mom

I was out of town just praying and praying that you have the baby on St. Therese, but I think the midwife's prayers are definitely more prudent!

Feast of St. Francis for the birth? FABULOUS!!! You will never have a lack of picture books for that birthday/feastday!!

Lots of fun speculation here. In reading your blog I know you have lots of birthdays over the past week.   Since all those children are two days apart in their birthdays, it seems this little one should make an appearance on Wednesday, Oct. 4 to fit the pattern. Like Jenn said, St. Francis would be a great feast day. But the traditional St. Therese feast would be great, too.

EDITED: Just realized Michael's birthday is the 29th not 28th (blog entry was day before) so.... so much for the every other day pattern.

Does Paddy want to share his birthday today?

Still praying here.

Okay, Elizabeth ,

Now we know to pray for your labor to hold off until tomorrow morning.

Continuing to pray for peace, patience, and a wonderful delivery, whenever God wills.

Hi Elizabeth,

I'm praying & also am amazed by how many birthdays your family has during this week. I guess when you found out your due date, you weren't that surprised! You'll have to tell us the pattern after all is said & done.

My son's godmother was born on the Feast of St. Francis...she is a total animal lover, and says that's why!

Elizabeth, I'm sure it's not fun to hang on and agonize, but it does sound like God was answering everyone's prayers in the best possible way. May He continue to guard and protect you and your soon-to-arrive little one!

Praying, Elizabeth---
if you have her tomorrow she will share a birthday with me -- and her birthday will be on St Therese's pre-Vatican feast day, too!

As you said on the thread about Aidan-- this seems to be a holy time of year -- and I know St Therese is a very good friend of your family, as she is of mine. I am sure she is keeping this vigil with you.

Elizabeth,
Lots of prayers coming from here! I was out of town all weekend and just dying to get back to my computer in hope of "news"!

God bless you and your little one. He has you in His hands and His plan is the best one.

Did I miss something, somewhere? Willa is calling baby "she". Do we know that?
