Thank you, everyone, so very much for all your prayers. I am sorry I was not able to post last night to update you - I didn't get home till 11 p.m.! It was a very long day - the surgery alone was 8 hours! We got to see him in the ICU briefly before we left. But the good - great - wonderful news is my dad's surgery was completely successful.  I just put up a post on my blog.

My friends, we need your prayers. My dad is not doing well and we're not sure why. He has become confused and agitated (beligerent even) and is a constant state of sedation and generally out of it.
His blood pressure and heart rate were very hard to control until late yesterday. It seems they have a grip on that, but his temp. is up and they are looking at possible infection.
We're not sure what's making him act like this. It might be one of the medications. It is very scary to see him like this - my dad is the most laid back, good humored gentleman.
My mum is a wreck (obviously). We are hoping for some answers and improvement today. Please continue your prayers for my dad. I will update as soon as I can.

I am so glad your Dad's surgery went well.
Hopefully the hospital will find the cause to his change in personality. I know that in the past my MIL reacted in a similar way to pain meds. It was a balancing act between pain control and personality.
Hopefully you and especially your Mom will get some rest before today's ups and downs.
