Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Nina-
Praying here. You are going to get over this big hill in your life. There is light at the end of the tunnel You are not alone. We are here to pray and offer sacrifice for you. I offered a sleepless night (sick kids) the other night for you. You and Elizabeth popped into my head!

Oh, Sarah. Thank you for that. (I've been praying for you, too.) So need it, so grateful. Please come to me if you ever need something, too.

Could I organize a novena of prayers for Nina? A sort of spiritual bouquet?

Those who would like to participate, let's pray first to St. Joseph and ask him to help us to remember to pray for Nina.
Then let's turn to our guardian angels to help us to pray for Nina. Since our Lord has so greatly elevated the dignity of motherhood by His Incarnation, may we pray the Angelus for Nina's intentions?

Since this is a large message board with people all over, could we promise to pray an Angelus, either at 6 am, noon, or six p.m. for Nina.

If different people, in different places take an angelus, I think we could say an angelus an hour for Nina. Private Message me, post here, or email me if you would like to be part of the spiritual bouquet and tell me your time zone and which Angelus time you would like to pray. We could try (ask St. Joseph) for nine days in a row.

to you, Helen.

Could we include all the pregnant mothers? Have a running St. Gerard's List Novena? I have been wanting a list with everyone's names and due dates in one place so I can keep track of everyone and no one is forgotten. This would make me very happy!

Helen, I love this idea. I'll be praying for Nina (and, as Nina suggested, for all the pregnant mothers). This group is so beautiful.

I'm praying for all expectant mothers (including those adoptive moms on our list who are anxiously awaiting their baby's arrival!).

Count me in...this is such a lovely gift to give one another...thanks, Helen and Nina for thinking of this!

Oooh, what a great idea!

Count me in...I'll pray the Angelus at 6pm Central time.

What is "ask St. Joseph"? Do you mean to just pray any novena to him? Forgive me for my ignorance...I'm a convert!

Dawn

Helen,
That is a great idea.
I have been trying to say the Angelus at noon every day and this will give me a very good motivation for working on the habit. So noon pacific time for me, and if I don't happen make it at noon (which happens some days) then I'll go for 6 pm.

Wonderful idea, Helen.

I'm with Willa. I've been trying to remember to say it at lunch and surely this will help me remember.

Put me down for 12 noon Central time.

Dear Dawn,
I just meant that when I try to say a novena, knowing my weakness and difficulties in persevering, I ask for help to get started. When I am particularly serious about the need to do something, I turn to St. Joseph in whom St. Teresa of Avila had such great confidence.

No long prayers needed, I was suggesting, because of the demands upon homeschooling mothers, to first ask St. Joseph:
"Please remind me to do this! Help me to persevere."

Once I actually remember, the next difficulty is to say the prayer well. So, thinking of saying the prayer in the company of my Guardian Angel, improves the quality of the prayer.
Now, I have to pray so that I can pray the Angelus this way!

12 Noon Pacific for us.

And I started a St. Gerard Novena at bedtime prayers for all of us expecting (incl. adoptive) and those praying for pregnancy.

Can we have a list where moms post their names and due dates?

This is such a mercy.

I am in relief and gratitude.
