I just talked to Tasleem's father. She's made it through surgery (14.5 hours worth) yesterday and was able to take a few steps today. She's been asking for her IPod so she can listen to some books.

The surgery ended up being as invasive as feared and the colostomy will be permanent. Please pray that the cancer is gone and for her mental health. She's been through a lot and I know she feels her chances for marriage and a family of her own will be dashed now. I'm afraid the recovery will be very difficult.

Prayers will continue for Tasleem. I am a big fan of name meanings and beieve that often our guardian angels delive our names to our parents. Tasleem's name means 'total submission'. I pray that she gains the faith to totally submit to the will of God and to trust in Him to take good care of her.
