Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

For years, I have hid our dirty little secret, thinking I would be ostracized from the homeschooling community if anyone found out that we were still in bed at 9am.

Oh Molly, I thought our dirty little secret was still having the shades drawn at 8!! Now I really feel much better... I just keep telling myself "it's for the baby that I'm sleeping late"...but this can only last so long, right?!

Okay, to answer the question, we've been having a "lesson time" since ds6 was a 3yo preschooler (yeah, I was chomping at the bit on that one ...what was I thinking??) and every year our "start time" is pushed back later and later. We started at 8am back then. Now we're at 9am and I'm really loving it...plenty of time for prayers, coffee, morning mass once a week, and a nice warm family breakfast, all before lessons begin (of course, all of this depends on whether we get up before 8! )
