Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Can you tell I love my apron? Now that I'm getting patterned shirts I'm thinking of making some in solids. I can share the pattern if you're interested.

Great advice, Betsy!

I work part-time, so I always have a couple nice suits and dresses. These have simplified work dressing so much! I always find a suit or dress that I like at JCPenney, and I only buy on sale. I went through my closet last year and got rid of every single thing I didn't like or that didn't fit well. Then I could actually see what my real choices were. It's kind of the same organizational system I use at work. The only thing on my desk is what I'm actually working on. The only things in the desk drawers are current projects. No wasted time looking through piles for a project that was finished months ago. . .or a skirt that is 2 sizes too small!

For home, I usually wear a long skirt (prairie or just extra long) and neutral tops. I found one very feminine skirt with a handkerchief hem. . .I bought two tops that would go with it and I've worn it once every week. This summer I wore a dressier pair of sandals most of the time.

Now that it's cooling off here, I do find myself longing for my jeans and sweatshirts! But, I have several long corduroy skirts and a flannel-lined denim skirt I'll be using again this year. Not sure about footware for this fall? Can't really find anything I like. I'd like to find a nice tunic sweater in a neutral color, also.

It's been my experience that most people own way too many clothes, and always wear the same old things over and over anyway! I'm trying to be a minimalist now!

my favorite footwear with skirts are the ankle boots.. they're sorta reminescent of the granny boot style.. except modern and comfy I'm still working on the wardrobe because I can't just go and get what I need all at once.. but I started on the shoes some time ago and figured out that I prefer wearing black boots (ankle or knee high winter boots) so I bought black knee high socks to wear with the ankle boots.. makes for a neat look under skirts.. and I can wear any color with them.

Also for warmth, one of my few real indulgences in clothing.. I got black silk long underwear pants.. they tuck into my boots or blend with my socks.. and they're just enough to keep me warm under my skirts. The skirt hold heat great but because the fabric falls away from my body the material itself gets cold (especially unlined denim) and this keeps bare skin from coming in contact with the cold fabric.
