Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Thanks, everyone, for all the prayers. I really appreciate it. Resting seemed to help a lot today, so hopefully this little one will stay put for at least the next month or more.

Actually, there is an upside to being housebound (sofa-bound?). I have already filled three and a half photo albums with family pictures dated between late 1996 and the end of 1998.

I had spent most of my free time earlier this summer labeling hundreds and hundreds (probably thousands, really) of photos from the years 1996 to 2003. They were ready to put in albums, but I wasn't sure I could finish the project before we started school for the year. Now I know I'll get up to date with the envelopes of pictures that have been in a box in my closet for all those years. My three younger girls have never had baby photos in albums to peruse. (I know -- BAD mommy!) Now at least my 8yo had been added, with the other two ready to be added during this time of bedrest.

Next summer's project: getting the photos that we've taken since buying a digital camera (mid-2003) out of the computer and on to prints, labeling them, and putting them in albums too. It actually seems like an achievable goal at this point.

I'm glad you are feeling better, Irene. I'll be praying for a contraction free month.

Love,

Erica, who wishes she was on 'bedrest' and getting some photo albums done!!!!!

Irene,
I always wish someone would put me on bedrest! Even when I am not pregnant.

Prayers for you and your little one. Take it easy and let your girls do the nesting for you.

Would you all please keep me and the baby in your prayers? My 3yo was born at such a low birthweight that I am nervous about an early delivery for this baby. . . . I am scheduling a sonogram to check the baby's size. Judging from the kicks I have been receiving (and the internal pain they are causing!), I am hopeful that this baby is a healthy size.

An Update:
I had the sonogram Friday. It looks like the baby is definitely a healthy size, so my worries about a possible early delivery have decreased dramatically. The first sonogram technician gave us an estimate for the baby's current weight at over 4 1/2 lbs. (That was at 33 1/2 weeks along.) Then the doctor came in and looked at the baby and had another technician take more measurements while she directed. They upped the estimated weight to a possible current 6 lbs! So not only do I not need to worry about low birth weight, but I may be carrying another 9-pounder this time!

Thanks again for your prayers. Things are going well with the bedrest limiting my contractions. And I'll be at 36 weeks in another 2 1/2 weeks.

Great news, Irene! I didn't post before, but you've been in my prayers this whole pregnancy. I was concerned about you and the heat of the beach...and now the bedrest. But I must admit to harboring some envious thoughts to think you got your pictures organized and albums done. That has not happened here, and I don't have lots of children under my feet for an excuse!

Continued prayers and Deo Gratias for the great news!
