Hey Ladies...and David and Tim,
My dh will be attending his orientation for his new field soon. He's still working in IT, but last year, after we endured what we endured, he decided to get his license to drive those massive trucks...well, long story short, his orientation is scheduled during the first week of July in Medford, Oregon.
After that, he'll be home awaiting the call from a trainer to schedule his training - and then he'll be gone for 28 days on the road!
So, please pray for me as I hold down the fort by myself for that time. I RARELY get any breaks as it is now so I'm finding myself a wee bit nervous about this endeavor even though I think it's the right step and I have good children....
Thanks in advance....

Maria, the Teamsters regularly train guys on those trucks up the street. It never ceases to amaze me when I see them maneuver those huge trucks in small Queens roads!
Prayers for Steve!

Maybe this is a book in the making...
Thanks everyone for the prayers. I'm sure it will be fine...we'll be swimming lots and we're going camping this weekend at the beach. Thatwill be great as here in Sacramento we're supposed to hit 108*/109*! !
I can't fathom driving one of those things, MacBeth, precisely because of small roads and crazy drivers ! But Steve is incredibly mechanical and as he is so burnt out with the IT industry, he's really looking forward to the freedom of the open road. Cue music. Even though he'll be working hard, I'm sure he'll enjoy the scenery...Oregon, WA state, parts of BC...he may even be driving down to San Diego....his training might take him nationwide and I think, despite the work, just seeing different states will help him. He's really tired of CA....
Ok, I better finish cleaning....

Hi Friends,
I know others have more pressing needs but here I am again.
Steve went today to have a physical for his second orientation and the doctor told him his pulse is high. Well, it didn't help that as he was changing into his robe someone opened the door on him ...So he failed Steve on his physical. Now, he goes back early Monday morning. If everything is okay, he leaves to go to his orientation. If not ? He gave notice at work so we're back to trusting, again.
He was really stressed out tonight and had great difficulty calmin' down in light of this. He kept thinking, "I have a wife and four kids...I have a wife and four kids...."
Your prayers are appreciated.
Please know I pray for yours, too.
Thank you....

Oh Maria, this is so stressful. You can really lower your blood pressure and pulse by visualizing something calming to you during the test. Have him choose what to think about before Monday. (Thinking "my wife and kids" won't )
I will pray that he can be at peace this weekend and relax during the test.

Oh, dear. That sounds like I don't support him in this endeavor. I totally do! I just keep saying, "Jesus, I trust in You! Jesus, I trust in You!"

Hi Maria,
I am praying for your family.
In case things don't work out with that other job, you might check into Schwan's. My dh has worked for them for 11 years. He started as a driver and now is a manager. They have fantastic benefits, medical, dental, vision, 401K and a lot more. The starting pay is pretty good too.
Schwan's is a HUGE company. They own Mrs. Smith's Pies, Edward's Pies, Tony's Pizza, Freschetta, Red Barron, and a ton of other things.
They are always looking for good people. To see if there are jobs available where you live go to: Schwan's Jobs
Blessings,
Krisann

I'm so sorry, Maria.
I didn't know how things were for you---I guess I haven't checked the threads enough.
Please know the Murphs will pray for you, Steve, and those beautiful children.

Praying that all goes well with the physical, Maria. And that the car is fixed easily and as inexpensively as possible. May you all have peace through these awful trials!

Thanks everyone for your prayers!
My dh bought a radiator today and replaced it himself! (He's very good mechanically!) So that did save us some dinero.
I fed him lotsa water and salads and he's going to start cycling again. He's still nervous about everything but I'm trying to encourage him mucho and I have to tell you all...
I spent the day cleaning the garage and doing laundry. Tonight, when I went outside to move the van into the driveway I looked down the street....AMAZINGLY, AT THE VERY SAME TIME THAT I LOOKED DOWN THE STREET, an 18-wheeler drove and turned down a street. OK, to some that might not be a big deal - but to me - IT WAS HUGE!!!
We live in a TOTAL residential area and this is maybe the 2 time I've seen a big rig in my neighborhood - the first time was when a friend of dh's who was driving came and took him and the dc for a drive.
Anyway, long story short - the coincidence was uncanny!
