I am praying for him and his family. I will also be asking my "older" baby brother, Bruce Lawrence, who went to heaven at 2 months of age , many years before I came along, to pray for them also.

Dear Kathleen,
We will remember this precious father too, my father was 53 when diagonised with the same thing - a month after I was married, he died 6 and 1/2 years later, still young really, he was serious from the outset as well, he must of had it a while (he was one of those stoic, silent-suffering men that never complain about their health and never took a day off work) - he did alot of alternative health things that the pallative care doctor at the end attributed his remarkable length of time considering it was so serious at the beginning.
Will pray for the wife and children in their great pain and worry.

OK...here is the latest update.....
Bruce went in for surgery on Wed. A.M. to have the tumor in the colon removed....when the doctors got inside they were overwhelmed with the rate at which the cancer had spread. They had to take out the entire
large intestine..so he has a "bag" now , and the doctors
were unable to remove "all" of the cancer, as it has
spread through his entire pelvis area. ...they are going to try to hammer it with chemo  and radiation. The liver has 3 spots on is that are cancerous as well, and they are going to try to "freeze" those.
Please pray for Bruce that he may heal quickly from this last surgery,
so that he can return home to spend some "family" time with
his lovely family.
Also pray for us, his support family,
that we can give our best to help him and his family
through these next few years. Thank you all again for your prayers and continued support!!!!

Thank you all for your continued prayers.
Bruce is still in the hospital, and trying to deal with the pain, which is on and off.(They still have him on a sudo-moriphine.) He is trying to walk at least a couple times a day, and his mood is upbeat at this time....He may be released by the middle of this week. I don't know when they will begin the other treatments .
It is still a bit overwhemling to the family and friends.I thank you ALL your prayers and support.

Ok...another update on Bruce.....things have not gone very smoothly for him....He continues to be in alot of pain. They did a CAT scan and the doctors saw something
that they did not like. After talking with his wife,
they performed emergency surgery on Bruce and found that scar tissue had grown over the intestine and was shutting it down  . Starting all over again!!! Now he is back to square one, and in the hospital for another 7days  . Thank you for your continued prayers. His family would love to have him out of the hospital and home for a little while before starting
up the radiation  and chemo treatments.
