Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I simply check in with them periodically to see how they are doing emotionally, physically, spiritually, and if they want to talk. We do all have morning prayers, meals, chores, evening rosary, and endless discussions throughout the day woven in and out. But there is just a "sheer numbers" issue! And I know the older ones *comprehend* this and their need to sacrifice the attention in a way the babies don't.

You know, I am not so sure that this is a sacrifice. I think, in the end, that having my older kids work independently, with check ins and chats with mum/dad and in homeschool groups, has been a benefit for the boys. They have all learned to be pretty self motivated and independent learners and this has helped/is helping them in university study.

Oh Nina, I so relate. MY high schooler seem to do so much on her own. I miss doing things with her. Actually, she is not doing Seton fully. I just enrolled her in one course. She is truly an unschooler at heart and I felt since she was independent enough, she could do her own thing. But I still miss doing all those neat things with her. I do check in with her several times a week to discuss books read, look at her writing, etc.

Oh, Leonie....more, MORE!!!!

Thank you for those reassuring words that this is not necessarily deprivation, but God's will for these particular children in forming them.
