Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Yes and yes, Pilgrim! We recently had our kitchen remodeled and one of my priorities was a tea drawer.    I love it!

We still do tea time here. I always drink tea but my kids might have hot coco or warm apple cider instead of tea. I read to them and they enjoy some sort of snack with their beverage. It's always a part of our day that the kids look forward to.

Several years ago I began enjoying loose teas instead of tea bags. Some of the herbal teas that can be purchased in loose form are beautiful. I store them in glass jars so you can see what they look like. This company is a little expensive but you can see what the teas look like. This and this are a couple that I have tried. They also have a green tea that I drink frequently called "sky between the branches". It's less expensive at Upton Tea though.

So happy for you Becky that you were able to remodel your kitchen! I truly know how nice it is. I LOVE having a tea drawer for our little ones to enjoy. We actually had to expand to 2 drawers, as we have so many yummy teas we like to enjoy, and there's a bit of an overflow into the pantry, too.

Your tea times sound just like ours did at home! Yes, we liked hot chocolate or the spiced apple cider, too. Yummy!

Loose teas! I've been thinking of checking out the local Tea Emporium someday, I'll have to get around to it!

I'm that I'm the only Earl Grey lover here? (Unless I missed some responses.)

This is my favorite Earl Grey. Pricey and I actually haven't had it in two years -- trying out other Earl Greys in search of one that's a close match, but I haven't found one, though Republic of Tea's Earl Greyer and TeaSpot's Earl of Grey come close enough I guess.

I actually love lots of black teas -- particularly Darjeeling, Assam, Pu-erh, and of course black tea made into chai, except that I haven't been able to find again the chai that I fell in love with years ago. Too many of the ones we tried after are too "muddy"-tasting -- I like my chai clear and the flavors distinct. Anyone have a favorite recipe I can try?

I found a really great green tea once before, but I didn't keep track of which one it was and I haven't found it again. We do keep other green teas here (right now Stash).

And no one's mentioned Rooibos?? LOVE LOVE LOVE that stuff. I encourage everyone to try it if you haven't yet. It's wonderful hot and plain, or with milk and sugar, or iced. Yummy!!!

Oh, and Thai tea!!!! It's really black tea flavored and colored, but I haven't found anything that replicates the taste that's all-natural -- so every now and then I indulge. We have a bubble tea place nearby that serves it in slushie form with tapioca balls and we also make it at home with store-bought Thai tea (just steep in ice water and blend with milk and sugar (or condensed milk) and ice.

Oh, the joys of tea, cocoa or hot cider on frosty, wintry days! Recent favorites here include Celestial Seasonings holiday teas, Sugar Plum Spice and Cranberry Vanilla Wonderland, and Stash Chocolate Hazelnut. All are caffeine free and the flavors blend quite nicely with milk or flavored creamers.

I have such sweet memories of Pilgrim's oldest peering expectantly into our tea drawer at beautifully decorated Celestial Seasonings boxes ~ to this day I like to imagine family members' delight over new teas we add to our stash!

Just went to check our current supply (bursting at the seams of three drawers we've graduated to or have gone to excess, depending on one's perspective). I was wondering which boxes might stir childish imaginations most ~ Celestial Seasonings wins hands down! The artwork on each box is just delightful and they still have sayings printed on various sides of each box. A few examples:
~"Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love."
~ "Joy is the only true wealth."
~ "There are souls in this world which have the gift of finding joy everywhere and leaving it behind them when they go."

I'm off to put the kettle on! We'll all have tea. (Sung to the tune of the last verse of "I'm a little teapot", of course!)

So you don't add milk to your chai, Stef? I like our recipe, but I don't know how clear it is because I always add milk and sugar while it is still in the pot. It is the recipe on the large McCormick bottle of whole cloves from Costco but with the sugar dialed back a great deal. I can find it if you are interested. I actually like it made with Irish Breakfast.

I made a couple tea holder gifts this past year... I got the idea from the popular tea wreaths you see on Pinterest. I just used a 6 x 12 inch pine board and then painted the words "But first, tea." in the middle. Then I glued the clothespins around the edges... should've taken pictures. But they are always received with delight.

Here's the original idea:
