I just received Lost in Peter's Tomb but haven't read it yet. It looks promising though.

Gwen,
I just read Lost in Peter's Tomb. Let me know what you think after you read it. It is a quick read.

Hey Y'all,
What about mystery movies that are appropriate? All I can think of is the miss Marple movies. Anything else out there?

I remember The Double McGuffin and Cloak and Dagger from my childhood (vaguely). They are both PG, but I can't remember what for.

Gwen and Natalia, what did you think? My 11 yo picked this out Saturday at the Catholic shop. We'd like to read it aloud with my 6 yo this week.
Looks like there's another one - Break-in at the Basilica - in the series.

Dawn,
It was OK but not great literature. I thought it was lame and the plot was kind of simple. I think that the idea was good but the result wasn't as exciting as I thought it was going to be. That is my opinion as an adult. My kids haven't read it.

Hi Dawn,
I haven't read it yet. Perhaps the series will improve with subsequent stories?

At what age would it be appropriate to introduce Agatha Christie? I loved her books, I guess when I was a teen, but really can't remember if they had anything mature or objectionable.
My dd 10 just finished a compilation of Sherlock Holmes mysteries and enjoyed them.
One warning, I bought some short books from MindWare (supposed to be a good kids' catalog) that were mysteries for ages 10 and up. Well, almost every story had infidelity as the motive for the murders and the description of the crimes were at times quite disturbing! Needless to say I sent them back with a little note!
