Thank you ALL, dear friends for your many prayers that carried me/ us through the final weeks of pregnancy, AND esp. the delivery!
Our sweet little Emma Regina Marie was born at 12:20 A.M., Thursday, weighing in at a healthy 9 lbs. 3 oz., 20 in. long. She and I are both doing great, nursing with vigor right from the start and not looking back, except my poor sore, cracked and slightly bleeding chest .
Precious Emma was able to receive Holy Baptism the very next day. It was one of the mot beautiful we've ever had.
The birth went very well. From the time of induction it was about 6 1/2 hours until we had baby in our arms. I appreciate all the encouraging posts about epidural, as it was what really made a difference in a peaceful positive experience with this birth. The contractions were very hard even before the epidural, and as I relaxed after the epidural was in they got much stronger, and I dilated super fast. So fast they hadn't even checked me again when I called them and said I was feeling something different, and thought they may want to check me. I thought baby was getting close to crowning, and I was right! The doctor came running in, threw on her boot/shoe cover things fumbled her gloves on, looked over and said "Oh my!", and just got over to the table to catch our sweet girl and pronounce "Happy Birthday!". My husband said it was the easiest birth he has been at, and she was our biggest yet! Also, the recovery has gone well with no effects from the epidural pitocin, Praise God!
Now we just have to get past the stomach bug we all have had the last couple days.
Thank you again for al your prayers!

Thank you ALL for your joyful congratulations! She is such a nice little baby so far, nurses well, sleeps well, LOVES to be held and is adored by all. We just made it back safely from her first long trip, visiting my family 450 miles away. She traveled AWESOME! I know God has given us these blessings in answer to so many prayers.
Yes, Suzanne, I'm so very glad to now be on this side of labor! SOOOO very nice, yes there's recovery and painful early nursing, but those are better to me than painfully being stretched by a large 9 lb. + baby, and your body feeling like it's going to break carrying that weight around. Also, no more anxiety over labor, and it's now DONE!
