Here is my favorite quote on friendship that I am pondering in my commonplace book at the moment.
"In friendship we think we have chosen our peers. In reality a few years'
difference in the dates of our births, a few more miles between certain
houses, the choice of one university instead of another...the accident of a
topic being raised or not raised at a first meeting--any of these chances
might have kept us apart. But, for a Christian, there are, strictly speaking

say to every group of Christian friends, "Ye have not chosen one another but

Thank you for sharing the quotes about friendship, Marilyn. They are beautiful.
It is comforting to come here after almost nine years and 'see' the same women, women I consider friends.
As I type this my oldest is home from college surrounded by her closest friends giggling and catching up right behind me in our kitchen. Sweet. :)

Time. We moved and everything is in upheaval right now. I am taking the opportunity to analyze where my time is going and make changes as needed. 4Real stays, facebook is going, if I can work up the courage.  Often I have only time to read, not time to respond, which is why I sometimes find myself wishing 4Real had a "like" button.  But that would cheapen the experience of being here, I think. This place is refreshing, the superficiality of fb and it's ilk is draining.
I have been blessed with more time with IRL friends as of late, which leaves less time for computer time.
All in all, this is a slow-down season for me with regard to online life, while real life is speeding up. To everything there is a season...
