Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I really think the stir popper is the way to go for you. Seriously, my 9 and 7 year olds can *easily* use it independently. They could make dh's popcorn for him. Even after a year, the novelty has not worn off for the boys to make popcorn themselves for a snack.

Yes, my three oldest do it (12,11,10) and my 7.5 yo CAN do it, but there are too many others that want to....it's really easy...the only thing that is tricky is pouring the oil, but we use one of those olive dispensers which makes it do-able for them and no-mess.

Oh, I don't know about the GMO comment- in Canada corn is the most genetically modified food available. Almost all corn is genetically modified here unless it is organic. I don't want to worry anyone though, it could be different south of the border.

I read that popcorn is a different variety that has not been genetically modified. There are loads of hits confirming this.

Super- that is so good to hear. I have a friend who is an organic farmer and she had let me know so I hadn't researched the popcorn.

I like our air popper - I won't say "love" because it does blow a few kernels into the bowl if I don't tip it backward just a bit.

I have NO trouble with salt sticking, but I also drizzle a bit of melted butter on it (in a swirl), sprinkle with himalayan powdered salt, mix it up with a butter knife (could use anything, that's just what I usually grab because I cut a chunk out of our butter to put in the cup for melting) - then drizzle a bit more, sprinkle a bit more, mix a bit more. Usually 2-3 rounds altogether (less than 10 seconds of work).

My son has made popcorn for us many times this way. He's 9.

My husband gave me a West Bend 82306 Stir Crazy 6-Quart Electric Popcorn Popper for Christmas. He went with the less expensive because he wasn't sure it would work.

Last night we had our first batch with great success!!! The men are won over!

Thanks everyone for your input!
