Thanks Theresa and Meredith for the encouragement.I often visit both of your blogs for inspiration so I feel very encouraged! Now could you please explain how to link something to the board in words of one syllable for a rookie computer person!!(lol)

Alison, that geography post is amazing! If you'd like, I can start a new thread and link to your blog *or* I can talk you through it if you'd like to do it yourself. You can PM me if you'd like.

We have started our summer garden theme. The boys are very excited! we are making a sunflower-bean house. we moved the trampoline so we could plant a mini potager. And we have put tubs and pots and old boots full of soil and mushroom compost everywhere. I have posted a few pictures on my blog. Let me know what you think!

We are full swing in to gardening here! Have planted heaps of herbs and vegies in the potager including a purplish variety of basil. Ds(9) asked me how plants with non-green leaves photosynthesise; could someone help with an answer?

Sounds like a good one for Macbeth
I would guess that it is because there is nothing to say that a PURPLE plant has not (ETA) GOT chlorophyll...

Here is a snap of our sunflower-bean house. The sunflowers were beautiful on Christmas Day but are changing fast. The boys can't wait to count all the seeds!! Now we are waiting for a bumper crop of beans!
I posted more pictures on my blog.
Happy Epiphany!

Oh, Alison! They look great...and I'm glad I checked your location; I knew it was warm, but not that warm, around here .
I looked back in the thread to see that I missed your question about purple plants...the answer is that the greenness of the plant is masked by other pigments, but the chlorophyll is still there. You probably figured that out by now...

Thanks for looking and for the comments! I came in and found them after bucketing all my washing machine water on the garden...'sposed to be 39C tomorrow:time to start singing that popular song:" I love winter, I love winter etc..." sigh.
