A family we know just sent us the following prayer yesterday....maybe we can use it as a positive out of this sad situation.
Father in heaven, teach us to care for the world You created, and for the many forms of life with which You have enriched it. Help us, above all, to venerate human life, destined by You for eternal happiness.
Mary, Our Lady of Childbirth, you brought into the world its Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ the Son of God. Now, as in the past, we seek your maternal aid. Help us to protect and sustain the life of children yet unborn. May we truly cherish and courageously proclaim the sacredness of human life.
Most blessed Virgin, enlighten leaders and legislators to favor life and not abortion. Strengthen those who from fear of selfishness are tempted to end a life which is just beginning. May all of us live in the presence of God, here and hereafter. Amen
