Thanks for sharing, everyone. I didn’t want to come off as complaining when I know pertussis isn’t the worst thing in the world, but the reality is it was very tough for us to muck through. Thanks for keeping it real and supportive. I will pray for all of you as we enter this next season of the year....for our families who are changing quite a bit this Fall with kids going to college, and for all who are struggling with heavy Crosses.

Oh, Bridget. So sorry to hear about your loss.   

The roughest part of my summer has been missing my 3 oldest kids who have been gone on internships/camp staff jobs.      But I've also enjoyed being alone with my two youngest, and getting a lot of little projects around the home accomplished.

Just wanted to add a thought:

Simplicity goes with beauty. My keywords for the next school year. The beauty of simplicity. I need to simplify - everything. Simple, organized, peaceful. I am tired of a culture that is just "go, go, go" and "do, do, do" and "get, get, get" Although we managed to keep our family life simple - it is hard not to be affected by the constant commotion.

Even with schooling - we don't need tons of curriculum, expensive classes, beautiful lesson plans. We just need simple and beautiful and we need to give our time and attention.

OK - enough thinking out loud. Off to a farewell dinner that is being given for my daughter before she heads off to college (And yes Bridget - I know that I have nothing to complain about - I am so much closer than you are!!!)

Marilyn, you are so right, simplicity!! Can you speak to my entourage of doctors/specialists about that? They are really mucking up my schedule!

I am going to be pondering this discussion....let’t try to meet up here again in a few weeks and see how all is going in our endeavor to move through this time of transitions with Beauty, Simplicity and Truth.
