Please pray for a dear friend of mine!
You know when it rains it pours....well she is in a CAT 5 Hurricane right now.
She just had her thyroid out three weeks ago, a few days after that she found out her dh was having an affair (and the girl is pregnant) and yesterday she had to rush her 15 month old baby to the hospital.
They are still unclear of all of the issues with her son, but the CT scan did find a calcium deposit on the back of one of his eyes that was causing it to drain puss and swell shut.
She is in a dark place right now where she is doubting God and why this is all happening. My heart is breaking for her!
Please, Please, my fellow prayer warriors, pray for her and her baby!
Update 1: She just found out that her baby has cancer in his eye.  He is starting chemo today and the eye will be removed in a week or so. I am totally in shock. I am in the process of arranging child care for my kids so I can spend the afternoon/night with her.
Update 2: I am back home after spending the last few days at the hospital with Kristin. Her mother just arrived from WI, so that is good. Jayden has been a trooper. We had quite a few up and down moments, but it appears that we have relatively good news. Out come is great for what he has. He didn't qualify for the "best" option (which is what I posted in my first update), but it looks like he is good for the second best option. They hopefully will be starting chemo today or tomorrow, and we will go from there. Thanks SOOOOO much for your continued prayers!
Update 3: Jayden and Kristen are back home and have successfully completed one round of chemo. Thanks for the continued prayers. I know they mean a lot to her.
Update 4 - 9/9: If you could all cover Kristen and Jayden in your prayers this week and into next week. This past weekend Jayden lost all of his hair, and it was very, very traumatic for Mama! There is one more week until they remove his eye. He has been in so much pain and is completely inconsolable. Kristen is having to give him Oxycontin around the clock and he still isn't happy.
I know that Kristen is so scared to see her precious baby with no hair and missing one eye--not to mention to potential bad outcome from the surgery. My heart breaks, as there is so little that can be said to bring comfort.
Again, please pray for strength to make it through this week and for a successful surgery next Monday!
Update 5: 9/16
Please offer a prayer for Jayden, Kristen and the Medical Team as they perform Jayden surgery today. It is so emotional for Kristen to know that her son is losing his eye today.
Update 6: 9/17
Praise be God, they both made it through the surgery! 
They will find out more today about what the surgeon found and they will find out the pathology on Thursday or Friday. Both of these will be difficult meetings.
If there is a few more prayers out there please pray to Our Lady Under of Knots to help straighten out the paper work for assistance. The Social work is requireing much more paper work than is needed and they lost all of the paper work she sent over a few weeks ago.  Also, her seperated dh is adding a tremendous amount of stress to this situation, besides basically abandoning them.
Update 9/25 Asking for a few more prayers for Kristen. She had a long day that doctors office yesterday and they want to do 4 more rounds of chemo. This complicates her living situation quite a bit, please pray for a solution. Thanks so much for everyones continued prayers.
Update 10/9If you could offer a quick prayer for Kristen and Jayden today. It's Kristen's Birthday! But Jayden started back on Chemo yesterday and he will be getting his second dose today (2 day treatment of chemo, yuck!).  She was at the hospital for 8+ hours yesterday, I am hoping that she doesn't have to spend all day there today.

Offering my crazy day (which now seems much less stressful after reading of your friend's woes) for them.
Hurricanes are no fun. I have that T-shirt. I'll be praying for your friend throughout the day.

Oh, how terrible. I am sad for her. Maybe a small bit of hope for your friend's son - our sweet young neighbor had cancer in her eye and now has a glass eye and does very well.

Too much to bear. Praying our Lord please give her strength, wisdom, guidance and peace as she untangles these things one step at a time. I'm so sorry for her suffering.

That is all so shocking, how difficult for your friend and little guy. Praying!! You are so good to walk with her, that’s what true friends do.
