Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Is there anyway to watch EWTN if you don't have satellite? Like via computer?
Or any other reliable sources (besides secular news) that you would recommend to keep abreast?

Yes Erin, go to ewtn.com and click on either the radio or tv button. Then you will have the choice to click on live broadcast. That should do it!

Black smoke. Tune in tomorrow! (we were watching the Vatican webcam, trying to pick out words we knew in Italian and looking for my firstborn in the crowd!).

This is something she will never forget as long as she lives. History in the making, oh to be there, and to see the white smoke... though I caught up on her blog post, they better hurry up before she leaves

Yup. We all got up to watch it. We're still watching the Vatican webcam -- it's kind of fun to listen to the Italian commentary and try to figure out what they're saying.

And Erin, yes, she is having The Time of Her Life. She's been blogging about it, though having to study means that she's not always up to the minute. I know she welcomes friendly readers, so feel free to stop by!

Wow, Sally. Your daughter sure planned that well, to be in Rome at such a time!

Here's the Pope App

and the Conclave App

and for Androids: Conclave App

A friend was telling me how neat the Conclave App was, but it is only compatible with ios6. This is the first time I've been impacted by my first generation iPad's being "obsolete."

Erin, here's the direct link to te Live Television Streaming page , I thought I'd post it, as I found it kinda hard to find at first. And just so ya know, the site said that the schedule I clicked would pick up what time my computer had on it, and show the schedule accurately according to our time zone, but it didn't, so we just kept checking in until what we wanted to watch was on. HTH!

And if you like there is a live "Vatican smoke cam" from CBS news - just the smoke stack - all the time. Not too exciting in between votes, except for the occasional activity like the seagull that landed on it and is sitting there this morning, Most of the time looks like a still picture as nothing is happening - but fun anyway...

"Vatican smoke cam"

Enjoying your daughter's coverage, Sally. We have a young priest friend studying in Rome who is updating us. But he comes home this week for an ordination so may miss it as well.

I think the seagull is neat too. Perhaps the Pope will hail from the sea. Any popes with a maritime past? One of my son's was super excited when he first saw the bird because he thought it was a dove. He said, "Look! It's a dove! That is the Holy Spirit!" Too cute.

Speaking of boys being boys, my boys have been giggling about seeing the seagull poop for many minutes now.

What network do you all watch once the white smoke appears. I am watching EWTN on the internet. A friend of mine here said the cnn international coverage was good yesterday...
What station do you rely on?

I will add, we're using the Pope App to watch the chimney from the web cam while EWTN shows its regular programming.

Anxiously awaiting the smoke! While we're watching, we're making a "Habemus Papam" flag to hang on our door. Hope we can hang it this afternoon!!
