Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Monica, thank you for starting this post!    The kids and I used some of the information posted here and have learned so much. We made our smoke stack and have it waiting for the Conclave.

I think we may have to take a week off from school to get through all of these resources.

Really, though, if we have EWTN on in the background, we are working on the lapbook, enoying a few read-alouds, and making the smoke stack...that would be a fun and educational week!

A cute last minute idea I may try to do if I can make it happen is Eggs Benedict for dinner tonight!

The Vatican website has a virtual "book" on Pope Benedict, with pictures throughout his pontificate. It has text that is reflection on his time as pope with links in many of the pages to encyclicals, homily, letters he has written that compliment the text. It is a really nice compilation.

Such a neat book. I noticed yesterday but just passed it by. So glad you mentioned it!

One more bump about this little book. It is a treasure trove of an introduction/review of some of Benedict's great homilies, talks, letters. My older two picked copywork from the "book", and then we clicked and looked at more from the actual documents. I could learn a lot reading through and clicking.

Their quotes, from page 5, and also from this address during a trip to France in 2008

Quote:
Quaerere Deum – to seek God and to let oneself be found by him..

and my son, 8, picked this, found on "page 6" of the book.

Quote:
Given the reality of cultural diversity,
people need not only to accept
the existence of the culture of others,
but also to aspire to be enriched by it
and to offer to it whatever they possess
that is good, true and beautiful.

from the same trip.

Okay, sorry to highjack the thread but I really think this little "book" is a great resource. Lapbooks are lovely, but this is more my speed. :)

I think in my sleep deprived state, it took me a while to figure out how to work that book! It's great!

Nice resource compilation, Stef.

I had seen the Fantasy Conclave earlier today and was coming here to post it. It's a fun way to engage in the possible outcome.

Funny, I picked Cardinal Burke, too, stef, just like you .

Another interesting site that might be of use to those of you doing the Lapbook.
