Update 1/19
Rose is home! She is doing well and we are happy. We have a lot ahead of us as far as her medical issues, including heart surgery, but for now we are so glad to be home together.

Update 1/9
Rose has been in the hospital for 11 days. We thought she was getting better, but today she had severe respiratory issues and had to be moved to ICU. Cash was here and said it was intense and that they were minutes away from intubating (spelling?) her. I am here now and feeling very sad for her. The doctors say her VSD (hole in heart) is making her recovery much slower. Cardiology will want an echocardiogram as soon as is possible for her fragile state. We'll know more then. It is discouraging, but we are trying hard to stay positive. We have excellent support. We have dear friends who are nurses and two of them are our 'partners in care' who get a wrist band like us and have overnight privileges. Two times they kicked us out of here to go home together and sleep and be with the kids. We are trying to say yes to all offers of help and Cash and I take turns between the hospital and home.
Rose is so sweet. My heart is breaking for her tonight.
So much has happened between now and last week. We have shared our story of adopting her with many people and some have cried when they hear it. Some just can't comprehend but that's okay. We are nearly complete with our adoption application process. Did not anticipate that being so incredibly hard. We're also in the process of applying for Medi-cal, Social Security, financial aid for oldest daughter (she will go to Thomas Aquinas College, her first and only choice), and trying for a third time to do a home re-fi. There won't be a governmental agency left that doesn't have every bit of our information. Trying to trust and put it all in God's hands.
Typing from my phone so I'll end the update, but I promise to be back sooner if anything changes.
I will offer some of our little sufferings for all of your prayer intentions that I read tonight. We know that there are many suffering much more than Rose or us.

Hello everyone,
We would like to ask you to please pray for our little Rosie. She is at Children's hospital right now with my parents. She has had a pretty bad cough for a few days and with the holes in her heart her breathing has been a concern, but tonight my parents noticed that her coloring was very bad. They took her to Children's and my mom just called me to ask for prayers because the doctors took Rosie right in and said they do not like her color and they are right now doing test, etc. My parent's do not yet know how things are looking, but we hope and pray that the doctors will be able to bring health to her. I will keep you posted, but for now we just ask for prayers.

Hello all,
Thank you for your prayers. Rose has RSV, which combined with the holes in her heart (and her very young age) was/is very irritating. The doctors did tests and a heart Xray and my mom said they might do a echo cardiogram. She is on oxygen and will be kept overnight at the hospital, so by tomorrow morning we should know more. Things are sounding much more hopeful, as my parents did not know how serious it was when the many doctors and nurses were going to her room, so my mom related. =)

Praying, Emily, Thank you for keeping us posted. Thank God they took her in, as RSV can be dangerous even for a healthy child, but it is definitely treatable! May God watch over and heal sweet Little Rosie, and help you all to be at peace, sustaining you through whatever difficulties this difficult time is bringing. Praying for Mommy and Daddy, as it is hard to watch your little one suffer.

Hi again,
Rose is doing well and has been sleeping and resting. She is stable and will remain at the hospital for a while - possibly a week. She is hooked up to an IV and oxygen and has an oxygen and heart monitor. My dad said that she is being pretty frequently ‘suctioned’ to get rid of the RSV. After a few days, she will most likely get an echo cardiogram. My parents are with her and we are all doing fine. Fortunately, we have family in town for Christmas and are with them during this time. Thank you for your prayers!
