Erica, my Beatrice was nicknamed Beazy by her then 3-year-old brother when she was 1 day old and Beazy she remains! I will pray for you and Rose too.

I think there is a hostel for parents but I just stay next to Beatrice -- her infusion runs for 33 hours continuously and I can't leave her. In fact she barely leaves my lap. But I've got wonderful support from friends and family so when I've got a visitor and she's asleep I grab a shower which is pure bliss.

Thank you all again. Praying for your intentions.

Oh, and thank you Emily for asking for your precious Matthew's prayers. I have to share a lovely story on this subject. My friend Clare asked her precious stillborn daughter Olivia for her prayers, specifically that we be encouraged. The following Sunday (feast of the Holy Family) we met a lovely positive lady at our church whose daughter also has cancer. The incidence of her cancer is 6 in a million and ours is 1 in a million so the chances of us meeting like that in the same church at the same time are tiny.

Quick update. Beatrice is doing well. She has had three courses of chemotherapy now, and an ultrasound scan has shown that the tumour is shrinking and is now partly necrotic (ie dead), thank God!

There is also some 'seeding' in the area where they took the biopsy but this should be removed in surgery.

She's had a hearing test and there is no apparent damage to her hearing from the chemo so far, thank God.

The latest worry is possibly kidney damage -- the chemo can cause this as well, and her blood pressure has been up recently, so this is a worry. We are awaiting test results on this.

Back into hospital for the fourth round of chemo on Thursday. She'll have surgery to remove the tumour (and half her liver) about a fortnight after that.

We are being so well looked after, and are surrounded by love and kindness. I think our little darling is being prayed for on every continent! So if you can continue praying for her, we'd be so grateful.

Today we met the surgeon who will be performing Beatrice's operation on 1st March.

Apparently it will be a difficult operation. The surgeon will have to remove two of the three hepatic veins in order to get to the tumour. He will do an extended hepatectomy ie remove half the liver, and the gall bladder. He will also remove the tumour which is growing along the track of the biopsy line.

If it turns out that he can't resect the main tumour safely, she will need a liver transplant.

I was not expecting this. Feeling extremely wobbly. Very thankful for your continued prayers.

Praying especially for you as you face this challenging surgery, that it is successful and he is able to completely remove the tumor.
