Thank you again, and praying for your intentions.
Beatrice has been happier over the last couple of days than she has been for months. She's been eating a bit, and has just started kissing.
We're feeling such peace. Thanks be to God.

Praying for little Beatrice. We'll add your family to our prayers & Rosary.
It's lovely to hear that you have peace...God's is so Good. These crosses can be quite bearable and sweet when He allows you peace & serenity throughout them.
May He continue to bless you and strengthen you Doris, you are in my prayers.
God Bless
Chemai

Just a quick update. Beatrice is ok but is obviously feeling the effects either of the chemotherapy or the tumour, because she is very very cuddly and unwilling to be off my lap for even an instant. I absolutely love cuddling her but I worry about what might make her like this and it also makes coping with ordinary life very difficult.
Her blood results are awful (haemoglobin, white blood cells, neutrophils) but just good enough to avoid a blood transfusion. They need to stay up otherwise she can't have the next round of chemo. Apparently the timing is critical in order to zap the cells at the right moment in their growth cycle.
We're seeing the consultant on Thursday and if all is well the next round of chemo will be on Friday/Saturday. She has 3 hours of hydration, 6 hours of chemo, 6 hours of anti-sickness drugs and 18 hours of hydration.
The operation is due about 22 February. It will be a major operation to remove half her liver and I think she will be in intensive care for a few days afterwards.
We are surrounded by love, prayers and practical support and this really keeps us going. Thank you all, and remembering you all in our prayers.
Elizabeth

Oh I can't even imagine the trial of this suffering for you all. Poor thing def. knows something is going on and maybe she's clingy b/c she senses your angst. Try not to compound your worries...there are enough already. Continued prayers for you all.

We continue to pray for you. My 10-year-old, who especially loves Beatrice from afar, was just asking today for updates. I'll remind him (and the rest of us, too) especially to pray on Thursday, and to remember 2/22 as a particularly crucial date.

Perhaps part of it too could be that she's feeling everyone's anxiety, and also has had enough of hospitals and realises somethings up.
I pray she's not too sick from the chemo, and that she's not feeling pain from the cancer. It's so hard when they are too young to tell you how they feel. God gives strength most especially to his little ones, she's so precious to Him. Her angel is there to comfort her too, never leaving her.
I can't imagine how difficult this is for you and your family Elizabeth. Give that little girl a cuddle from me. I pray for her throughout my day. I will keep her especially in mind on her operation day, and you and your family too.
Don't worry yourself about anything now except what needs be done. Give those cuddles all round. Praying for grace to descend on your family at this moment. Praying, praying, praying for you

Still praying for Beatrice and your whole family, Elizabeth. I've walked this road, not with a child, but with my husband. Even he, an adult, became clingy during his whole treatment. You are just the safe place for her to be. Just cuddle away and let others do the rest for you.

I am thinking of you and praying for you tonight as I sit in Intensive Care with our Rose. I am hearing the second helicopter in about 30 minutes land here at Children's which reminds me that there are much sicker kids here then she. I think you are amazing, Elizabeth! I will keep praying for you and Beatrce. That is the name of my oldest and dearest friend who is also a L and D nurse and one of our care partners here at the hospital, although she goes by Bea. :) I pray you are surrounded by as much support as we have received and that you are taking care of yourself at least a little. Just washing my face, brushing my teeth, putting on clean clothes and getting some tea across the street at the Ronald MacDonald house helps keep me going. Do you have something for parents/family at your hospital?
May God bless you and sweet Beatrice!
Love,
