Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

You can also get washboards at Lehman's

I'm dating myself, but Holly Hobbie vintage items totally fit the bill for the "Little House on the Prairie" feel.

Pinterest has some paperdolls that you could print and cut.

And if you sew, the vintage Holly Hobbie patterns are perfect, even if you just make the bonnet and/or apron. You can track down vintage patterns so easy these days. Start at Etsy, but there are loads of sites that sell them:

Similar, and this is the one my mother made for us

Did anyone else have the Jody the Country Girl Doll?

Or The Ginghams paper dolls? If I had a girl, we'd be doing vintage a lot!

And crafts--real crafts, like beginning crochet or knitting or scrap quilts and hand sewing. Every time I hand sew I think of the time Laura beat the seamstress at buttonholes.

It didn't take much to get me into Little House. We got our special hardcover copies for gifts at birthday and Christmas. We never watched the show, but just immersed in everyday thinking and reading of Laura. (BTW, I am the oldest of 7, with 5 girls...4 at the top, so we had a lot of Little house, Prairie theme, girl stuff at home).

$10 on Amazon

These are even cheaper at Barnes & Nobles. I got it for my cousin's little girl.
