Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi dear, allergic reactions are like like a bucket being filled to the top. Things keep getting added to the bucket until the bucket overflows- the rashes and hives. Dairy and wheat are usually the biggest contributing factors so eliminate immediately until things calm down. ***Allergy tests will not be accurate within thirty days of using an antihistamine including Benadryl and Zyrtec, unfortunately. One of my ds's took allergy shots for four years. My two nine-year old's are allergic to wheat and dairy. I cannot use anything with sulphur without getting hives. That includes antibiotics. God bless you through these trying times.

....Well, her WBC count is normal now. They thought she might have had an allergy to the cold...which would not explain her ongoing hives, but I had mentioned she breaks out after coming in from the cold.... but she is not. When the nurse told me they were still waiting on the cold allergy test results, I told her that I could probably safely say that she was allergic to the cold based on the fact that after playing in the snow all afternoon, her face had hives all over where her cheeks were red/flushed from the cold. She also had hives on her ankles and wrists where the cold had affected her moreso. Anyway, I also mentioned that she had been complaining about her knees hurting off and on for about 3 weeks, and then I recalled that her fingers and toes had hurt during her first, more severe, breakout stage a month or more ago. So, she had originally told me to bring her back in 3-6 months, but after she told the doc what I just wrote, she called me back about 20 min. later to say they had called to check on the cold test, and she was not allergic to the cold, and that the doc wanted to see her within the week. Hmmmm...that sudden change in timing really worries me. She keeps getting hives off and on, and usually has at least a few bumps each day. So frustrating to not know what is going on. Trying to just trust!

Also, do any of you all know about Trans Factor? I had forgotten to mention to the doc that I had given her two of these a day or so before her outbreak along with the other kids. We don't usually use them, but I had them and a friend or two suggested they might help with the pneumonia as far as boosting the immune system, and that they were totally safe. A pediatrition I used to go to gave them to me for my 2 month old son, so I assumed that they are perfectly safe. I was researching how these things work last night...can they make the immune system overreact? She only had at most the equivilent of two tablets...opened them up and mixed the powder in o.j. for the girls. I read online that alot of docs use them to TREAT hives, so I would think they would not have been what caused the problem. But, maybe it freaked out her immune system? I would think that would only happen with a long term useage though, and none of the other kids had troubles, and they are younger. Really at my wits end with it all, and could use a prayer or two for Sat. since I worried when they wanted to see her again so soon!

Thanks!

I had asked about leukemia when I was there last. He said that if her WBC count was normal, she was probably fine because she did not appear to be anemic based on her blood tests. So, hoping it is nothing serious.
