I am happy to announce that Megan Grace was born this morning via cesarean delivery and has been spending time today with her family. Her vital signs are good and they are grateful for the time they have together with Megan. I understand that she is just beautiful.
Thank you all for your prayers. I was completely unfamiliar with Trisomy 13 until knowing these moms and praying for them throughout their pregnancy.
Sarah, thank you for sharing your story with us. I so appreciate the time you took to send the links and the idea about the Book of Life. I think that is a very special way to remember the little babies who have died.
Love,

Rebecca,
I have only just read this thread. I am praying for both families. How is Megan Grace? I am praying especially for her to have as much time with her family as possible.
A dear friend of mine lost her baby to Trisomy 13. Her baby died in utero shortly before her due date. It was such a painful experience for her and all of us who care for her.
Praying for peace and healing.

Megan Grace is doing well. She will be coming home sometime in the next couple of days. I was sent a photo of her with her great grandmother. She is just beautiful! Everyone is so thankful that they have had this time with her.
edited to add: She had her baptism in the hospital as well.

It is with a sad heart that I must post that Megan passed away this weekend. Her family, although they were prepared for this, is heartbroken. They are also so grateful to have had a couple days to spend with her after her birth. Please pray for them during this difficult time.

Praying, Rebecca. I'm so, so sorry to hear of their loss. The whole family will be in my prayers.
It is such a terribly painful loss, to lose a baby to this type of chromosomal issue--to know that there is absolutely nothing you can do at present, and nothing you can do to prevent it from happening again, if the chromosomal abnormality is genetic. I'm working with the genetic center here in our city on a grief counseling group for parents who have lost a child in or out of utero to a chromosomal issue. It is grueling, painful work to get thru this kind of grief. Keep your sweet friends close--they will need your support, prayers, and love to get thru this.
God bless,
Sarah

I just returned home from Megan Grace's funeral Mass. It was such a beautiful, heartbreaking ceremony. I simply fell apart at the sight of that tiny little coffin and when I saw her family's tears. Please keep this family in your prayers.
This entire story of Megan's life is a tremendous pro-life witness. Her funeral Mass was also a reminder that by today's standards, with different parents, Megan might not have been allowed to live, sadly because of her chromosomal condition. Her parents' love for life was apparent and resounding.
Anyone who would like to see the beautiful photos of Megan that were taken during her 44 hours here on earth, please pm me and I will forward the link to you.
Thank you again for all of your prayers.
