The saga continues...
The company walked out of negotiations yesterday and put out a letter today that all benefits and work will cease Friday at 7 PM (except for those willing to cross the picket line).
They are refusing to talk and the union is refusing to back down. Not a good compromise. And it's all about $$$$$$$$$$$$.
Please pray that the strike is short-lived and comes to a peaceful resolution. The worst thing is the company will win in the end and Mark said the moral is already way down. I'm sure this will not improve anything.

Praying, Cay: a husband's lack of security in his bread-winning role is a great stealer of family peace. May this be resolved soon and in a good way.
Jane.

Cay, you are surrounded with prayers. Picture your family in the palm of God's hand. Can't imagine the stress of the situation. We know it's God's will, but accepting that is so difficult...

Please pray.
The federal mediator called for a meeting today and tomorrow (July 5 & 6).
We'll see where things are headed.
And, thank you all for your wonderful response to Catholic Mosaic. I'm using the royalties for school supplies this year.
What I hoped would be a blessing to all of you has proven to be a blessing to my family.

Workers will vote tomorrow on new contract.
Please pray that the strike is ended for all these families and also that (should they go back to work) my dh is able to decide what to do about the sideline business that got us through the strike. The jobs have not slacked off but are stacking up.
He feels it is worth keeping (especially with having sons and future son-in-laws) going into a workforce that is ever increasingly unpredictable and unfriendly. But he does not want to work after work hours or on weekends.
Giving up his job isn't an option because of the benefits and his seniority.
We would have to hire workers for the business while dh and his partner oversaw the jobs but there's all kinds of legalities to look into. Dh and his partner are discerning what to do.
It's always a stressful situation.
Prayers are appreciated.
