We've had a lot of rain here. Flash flooding and rain outs of sports. That's our big news . How's your weather?
Hope you all had a great week since last we met
My latest blog post: Nail polish pretty which was directly inspired by this topic from 2009, Pretty little ways .
I'm likely to share some big good family news next week (no, I'm not pregnant ). How's that for a cliffhanger?
Have a great week
Love,

Ah, rain here, too. Very dreary day - feels like fall already and that is after 90's just a couple days ago. Not ready for the change - want to hang onto summer...
Love your pretty nails, Angie.
Not much here - just trying to get back into the swing of life after our trip to Spain. I want a siesta...
Starting school this week. Had our first day of enrichment program yesterday. I'm teaching two classes there. Homeschool support group welcome tea is tomorrow night - fun evening out with the ladies to start the new year.

I'm here! Well, just barely. Lots of little thing going on and I'm trying to keep it all straight. Trying to recover from a conversation with a fellow homeschooler from last week that has me still . Anyway . . . .
Fall like weather might be here. Summer is trying to hang on as we had a few days really warm up. But, loving the cool evenings and mornings. Wasn't so long ago that it was still 98 at bedtime!!
Can't wait for this weekend to be over and I don't have think about the "kid's activities" at the parish fall festival again until next year. Which should be easier since this was my first year. Which reminds me I need to put together grab bags!

Fall-like weather here, too. No rain all week. We are doing a few things with school work, but not much because it's still chaos.
I shouldn't be, but I'm stressed about it. So much to do, so little time. My jaw is acting up and I am having difficulty eating and opening my mouth. Wish it meant lots of pounds falling off, but it doesn't.

42 degrees here when I woke up!!! Hooray for fall! It's my favorite season.
Jenn, your jaw sounds painful. Hope it eases up.
Just... school around here, for the time being... I'm enjoying it before chaos reigns again.

It's stressful around here, mostly because of world events and yesterday's sad anniversary (we lost friends 11 years ago), but the weather is lovely and I am working on an article that should come together quickly, which is nice! (And a welcome change!)
Please say a tiny prayer for Dancing Daughter, who is recovering from a bad cold AND a sinus infection, and who is dancing Saturday. Thanks!

Well, life here is moving along. I am struggling with some severe heartburn at night. I've tried everything and the only thing that helps is taking a TON of tums which are just gross to me.
We are in full swing with school and activities. Maybe making some changes for our oldest daughter and her ballet schedule. She is a bit overwhelmed and having some issues in class. She is starting to wonder about the huge toll it is having on her body when in reality professional ballerina is not in her future. To top it all off, after 5 years in the Nutcracker every Christmas, she is too tall and was not given a place this year. She is trying to take it all in but when you are a 5'8" 12 year old ballerina, it gets tough.
We finally agreed on a name for our new bundle of joy but I'll wait til he is born to make the big announcement. We are so happy to find something we all agreed on and something special enough for our other children's liking.
Praying for all of you and your weeks!
Oh and Mary, I am so jealous of your trip to my mother land. Espana, como te extrano!!!

Oh, and I forgot to tell you all how jealous I am of your weather that is cooling down! We are in a heat wave that won't let us go! It has not dropped under 80 degrees in over a week and we are sweltering in this heat!

No rain.. quite cool weather right now but warming up for the weekend.. which brings me to the big thing here.. a black powder rendevous which I'm desperately hurrying to get stuff done for.. all the normal camping packing PLUS trying to finish sewing period clothing for everyone.. I shouldn't be here now except I just finished shopping with my mom and needed to sit for a few minutes. back to sewing...

Mimi when you say you've tried everything for the heartburn.. have you tried somethign acidic? like a bit of apple cider vinegar in water? When pregnant you get heart burn from slowed down digestion and low acid rather than too much acid.. which is why you'll hear things like a teaspoon of yellow mustard will help.. which seems contrary to all the high-acid indigestion solutions which is to have something low acid or antacids (to reduce acid).

Finally cool enough here for the kids to GO OUTSIDE
I haven't seen them for an hour, but I hear them... out there in the backyard somewhere. Probably don't want to know what they are doing....

Papaya! Papaya! Papaya! Eat it whole - *or* it does come in a handy little tablet form. You can get them at just about any grocer - or - order them from VitaCost. They work, and they're tasty .
Autumn has arrived here in the PacNW. Love it. This morning the sun was bright, the sky clear, but it was crispy cool. The perfect morning for sitting on your front porch, sipping hot tea, and reading something beautiful.
The hubby came home empty handed from his hunting trip last week - but he has some wonderful stories to tell of his close encounters with the big bulls bugling. I love that he considers it a good hunt, though he didn't get tagged out with his elk. The season isn't over and he'll go out once again soon.
And speaking of husband, he's decided to take this week off and spend it at home working on our house. Quite a delightful little treat for us girls at home . I wish it was his full-time job to work at home. I love it when he is here .
Got a few new books this week - love it when my little Amazon.com truck pulls up the drive. (You can pretty much substitute the words UPS with Amazon.com, in my case).
AND I had a brilliant idea for one of the walls in our nook. ... patiently awaiting the arrival of some swanky new frames to hang. Prepare to be inspired(!) I told my girls. ... maybe I'll post a picture if it all works out (sometimes grandious ideas that I visualize don't always work out IRL) .
Blessings on your week, gals!

No rain here. We are still in a drought, but the weather is finally cooler. In fact, just about an hour north of us the temps got below freezing yesterday.
School hasn't really been happening this week...We are on week 7 and I think I have early autumn burnout! It's been quite a hard week.
Mark has started 7th grade at a local private Catholic school..and I can't really judge how he is enjoying it, it, if at all. He pretty low key about the whole thing. I guess time will tell.
We are planning a trip for all of us to head to Christendom College for a weekend visit with Amy. We are also going to head into Washington DC for a day. We are still trying to figure out what we will all enjoy in just one day of fun.

Yes! they're not acidic but they help digestion not work as an antacid.

We got internet today! yay!
Settling back into our home in Fairbanks, AK. Lots of little projects to make it ours again--3 years of it being occupied by renters has taken it's toll on our little home, but we are loving it back into good health again!
Weather has been beautiful, sunny and up in the 50's in the day, 30's at night.
Last night the northern lights made an appearance to welcome us home.

I find myself looking forward to this thread every Wed. I like reading what everyone is up to. Thanks for starting it every week, Angie. I am waiting with baited breath for next week's announcement.
No rain here but it has gotten cooler. We are in the backstretch of harvest here and we have had a major breakdown. We have about 4 more days to go but it will take a few days to get the combine up and running. My Beloved is quite stressed over this.
We are on Week 6 with school. School is going so well this year. I am so enjoying our time of learning together. I have decided this year that I am not going to stress if we don't get everything done each day. I am just taking each day as it comes and if things don't get done--oh well. This mindset change has helped the flow of our days. Even the kids have said that they are enjoying school this year. Hooray!

Rain is supposed to come here soon. Maybe tomorrow? We have 50% chance for the next couple of days. We had 100 degree weather all last week and this week we've had very pleasant weather in the low 90s.
I'm working on several costumes for our local community theater's production of West Side Story. I'm also planning for the Nutcracker. Besides all the rehearsals we'll have in the coming months, I'm working on the Sugar Plum and the Dewdrop costumes. I might also re-do the Clara dress.
School is in full swing here as are all our activities. Whew! I'm tired just typing all of that.

Sitting outside a motel while my husband asks about room.
Three days, three provinces and two time changes, one more day (and province) to go.... We're coming back from a family wedding (and vacation). It was a good vacation even though the one year fell ill (she was a Velcro baby for the entire visit).
