They were unable to find the testicle on the MRI. So, they are going to have to do surgery and make multiple incisions looking for the tissue to remove it.  It is going to be a much more complicated procedure. I hope that they can find it and remove it so that it won't cause cancer in the future. Please pray for my little boy. Thanks.

Thanks for all of your prayers. We still have not heard back from the doctor with his official recommendation. I am not at all comfortable with the exploratory surgery route. I have been praying about this a lot and just feel like we shouldn't do this surgery. I am going to get a second opinion before we decide for sure. Please continue praying that we can discern the right option here. I want to do what is best for Dominic. I know that God will show us the right path to take. Thanks again for your prayers.

I'm so sorry and will pray for you and him.
I do want to offer that my son has only one (left) testicle and they never recommended surgical removal of any tissue on the right side. In fact he actually only has a remnant of his right kidney (in fact tissue is even present on his sonogram updates we do). While "old school" (meaning even in the past 10 years) was to surgically remove this remaining tissue under the chance of future cancer that is no longer the recommended treatment. There have been multiple studies done that have not led to any conclusions that "tissue" can form cancer later in life. In fact our last dr. said there was greater risk from a surgery than from the tissue becoming bothersome in his future.
I just wanted to offer that in case you would like to seek further opinions on the off chance that maybe this is something that doesn't really need to be done. I know you only want the best for him and if it is something that truly NEEDS to be done, I pray you feel peace about the decision.

Ack- it's always so hard with things like this. You just want it to be over and everything to be OK. I will be praying that will soon be the case....
I also second the second opinion route if you have not had one... no need to put Dominic through all that if it's not needed... God bless him.
