Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Yay, Lara!

Yes, I was AMAZED at what a different sleep made in my life. I still have to make myself go to bed at 10:30-ish (some nights it's more "ish" than others), but not being exhausted is such a wonderful thing (my husband appreciates my being . . . more available . . . too, rather than hoarding my late-night time for myself. So there's that benefit :) ).

Cutting caffeine really helped me, too. I'd just live on coffee, often neglecting to eat breakfast, all morning long while we were doing school, then crash -- exhausted and *starving* -- around lunchtime. Now I drink decaf or half-caf, which is what my husband generally makes in the morning as a concession to my new habits! And I'm making myself drink water.

I wish I lived near you, so I could go for a walk with you -- that's my latest resolution, a brisk walk with the dog DAILY. I'd sure invite you to come along!

Meanwhile, all the things you're doing to support your body will have a positive effect on your hormonal situation. I wish I'd taken better care of myself in my early 40s -- the good news is that it's never too late.

Still cheering you on!

Sally

Erin, I am really enjoying the link you provided! Digging into her blog and following links has enlightened me and given me some new avenues to persue. I remember once reading Potatoes Not Prozac and I think I need to revisit that book again.
