Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Ok, so now I'm thinking the beadboard would work in just the kitchen which is where most of the "bad" patch work is. Well...hmmm...I'll run that by DH. I thought he didn't want to spend the money either on removal but last night he said he did. Guess that's a for me!

I just looked it up, apparently they need to be tested for asbestos before removing.

When we looked at this house, apparently I never looked up.    The popcorn ceiling really bugs me now. Two things are very important when you consider removing it. 1) having it tested 2) know if it's been painted over which makes it HORRID to remove.

Our popcorn ceiling isn't painted which makes it much easier to remove. We just haven't sent in a sample yet to find out about the asbestos.

Well we got 2 quotes that were much more reasonable (but DH will be painting so that took off alot of expense) so looks like we're going ahead with it. We're supposed to close this Friday barring any major delays! Wish I knew how to do before/after photos here.
