Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Well, it's not Wednesday anymore. For some reason my "active posts" button never brings up all the new posts, so I missed this.

It's been great reading all your updates!

Oldest just finished two weeks at art camp (at the high school a short walk from our house) -- she got compliments for her art work AND for the fact that she's homescooled (*fist pump*) They were of the "I can tell you are homeschooled because you are not afraid to ask questions and talk to the teachers like human beings" variety. Ohhh, my poor unsocialized homeschooler, unable to sit sullenly rolling her eyes like the other teens there.     Just kidding...but these were the creative/artist type teens, many of whom have grown to hate school and teachers, according to my dd, because they don't do well academically (she's not guessing this...they *told* her). We are blessed to homeschool because my dd would be just like them if she went to school -- struggling and probably hating it and herself.

ANYWAY, I digress...

We started up school for the kids that were home. Enrolled 7th grader in Seton, and CHC for the others. I'm in serious "emotional survival mode" so this is working for us so far!

Happy that 4yo's rheumatoid arthritis is being held at bay by his meds according to a recent dr. visit-- we were able to "step down" to a lesser med and it still held, even though this drug didn't work at first. I miss his prednisone cheeks though. Love me some dimples.

Not sure what else to say. Hmmmm...we are sending my parents to Cape May for their 50th anniversary soon and they are very excited! They are broker than broke, so were not thinking they could do anything to celebrate. To see my parents thankful and excited for something is a big (and rare) thing. But there's no way they can be celebrating their 50th, 'cause I'm only like 28 years old, right??

Painting
On the weekend I supervised my boys to prime and paint the eaves on our end verandah. Yesterday I sugar soaped the walls on the verandah and today, in an hour in fact I begin painting the first coat It is beginning to look like a real house
