Sally passed Thursday night. There will be no memorial of any kind. My family is left to ourselves to figure out how we are going to memorialize our dear friend.
Ladies, there are times, like this, when I am extra grateful for the loving guidance of our beloved Church. Without Her, it is so easy to not give proper care and weight to important matters, such as death. It is too easy to minimize the death of a loved one by becoming very small in attention given. Praise God for the funeral Mass. Praise God for gathering in community to grieve together.
So while my family and I have our own grief missing Sally, I feel an added sense of grief for what Sally's family is missing...that which they don't even know  .

I'm so sorry, Angie. I know how you're feeling - there was no memorial/funeral for my husband's uncle last month, or for his grandmother when she died a few years ago. It felt completely wrong not to gather and pray for their souls as a family.

So very sorry for the family, and for you as your grieve the sudden loss of a friend and neighbor. Praying for the repose of her soul.
