I received this prayer request from another e-list I'm on, but I was hoping you prayer warriors could add your prayers to those already ascending on behalf of this family.

Please pray for the Laskowski family who were in a terrible car crash this morning. Some of you may have corresponded with them or purchased books from them as they run Mary's Books, a company that works to put faithful, OOP, Catholic books back into print. (The company is actually named in honor of Our Lady, but, coincidentally, it's also the mom's name.)

Their daughters are in critical condition, and their son has an injury to his head. I haven't yet heard the full extent of Mary's injuries.

She also had her niece and nephew with her. The nephew has a shattered pelvis and a punctured lung.

I understand that Mary and her son have been discharged. Mary is with her other children who were all taken to a different hospital. The other children remain in critical condition as does the driver of the other vehicle.

I am certain that Mary and her family are so grateful for your continued prayers.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.

Latest update on via yahoo list.. Continued prayers here.

How the accident happened: they were driving on a country road, in the middle of the road where there was the least amount of snow. They lost control of the car, turned and were perpendicular to the road when another car came over the hill and T-boned them.
They are looking at 6 weeks in the hospital and then all the re-hab.

All three children (nephew and two daughters) are at the same hospital now. The niece has been released. One daughter has a shattered hip and another daughter has all of her ribs broken on one side. They need to be kept "under" because their pain is so severe, that if they come to for too long, they would panic and that could have catastrophic consequences. The daughter with the broken ribs has a machine keeping her lung from collapsing. At this point they don't know if her right shoulder has functioning nerves, as well as her left leg. One daughter has not spoken yet at all, so they don't know if her brain was affected. The other daughter has been communicating/speaking.

The nephew and daughter will be having a complicated surgery on the pelvis this morning. Please pray that that goes well.
