I am not Jen, but I got some of these shirts too. The fabric is great - a nice weight and very soft. Some people in very warm climates might find the cotton a little heavier than they might like though. But they wear very comfortably. They are long, which is nice from a modesty perspective, but if you have a short torso they will probably be too long. The v on the v neck is not deep at all - more of a pointed dip than a v! The colors are a little bit heathered/muted, which I didn't realize from the pictures. If you want bright vivid colors these are not going to satisfy you. But I think between the color and weight, these tops should wear and last extremely well.
This thread has been so helpful for me - besides these tops I also bought two sleeveless shirts and a three quarter sleeve linen shirt from LL Bean. Hooray, decent summer clothes, thank you so much for the recommendations!

I agree with Amber's assessment completely. I've had my Duluth shirts in for a couple of weeks now, and they've been through the wash a few times. I'm glad I ordered a small for myself. These have form, but are not remotely tight. If I had ordered a medium, they would have been way too large. They do not shrink much (at all) when washed.
The fabric weight was a thrill for me. These are heavy enough to not be transparent/opaque in any way, but still light enough for our extremely hot summers! Win - win!
The V neck is exactly as Amber described - a pointed dip. The lowest point of the V is not low at all - not even two finger widths below my neck.
Overall, I am extremely happy with this t-shirt. It certainly falls within the casual realm, but wears nicely and washes well. The feminine cut has a very slight generosity to it, so that it doesn't ever tightly hug the body, but it does truly follow the natural lines of the body so that it isn't just a boxy t shirt.
And of course, I really do like the length. I do agree with Amber - if you are naturally petite, this will be uncomfortably long for you. If you are long waisted, or average/tall, you will appreciate the extra length.
I like the rose color a lot, and the gray.

Bumping this up... I have been scouting out the top scene in earnest this week. The stores here put out a ton of summer fashions this week.
This is a very, very basic crew neck tee from Penny's, but it is so soft and has a nice stretch. I bought the red last fall at the end of the season and wished I could have bought more. Now they have several colors at my local store, but the sizes are going fast.... as they would be for $7 a piece.
Again, not fancy, but soft and stretchy and great alone or for layering. I did think the white was a little see through, so I didn't buy it, but the navy, the red and the pinks are all very nice.
ETA: I bought the petite version and it was a nice length for me

I bought this shirt from JCPenney last year and this year too... but I bought the Talls version. I'm tall and have a long torso, so I have a really hard time finding shirts that are the right length and don't shrink. This shirt has done it! I washed my red one over and over again and it still is the right length!! YAY!! And I agree about the white; I wear it under a sweater, but not alone.

I really, really, really wanted it in yellow, but they don't have it! But I have it in red, navy, black, white... This shirt is $6 in May.

This shirt from Penny's also has worked well for me. I bought one- not being sure if it would hold up in the wash, but it is washing and wearing very well. It is slightly fitted for a more feminine look (though not clingy at all), and the white stripes give it a nice spin. I got the pink/rose, which is a very pretty color.

It could be longer, but it's not loose. It's probably 1/3 down my long arm to my elbow?

I agree. The petite length sleeve is about 1/3 down my upper arm. It's much better coverage than a cap sleeve, but not as much as an elbow sleeve.
I wouldn't want it shorter, but I am comfortable with the length.
I am so glad Maryan posted about the sale. I went today and picked up yellow, a striped and another white for layering this winter. For $5 a shirt for the petite, I can't beat it. I am wearing these shirts a lot this summer, and if they get ruined somehow (always a risk at my house ) I am not out much money.

I'm having an awful day here...just in the doldrums for some reason...so I cheered myself up by ordering a few new T's from Duluth and a skirt for traveling this summer from Appleseed's and a pair of flat sand-colored slip-ons from Zappos (with coupon code).
Guess that will be my summer "uniform"!

Just saw this JJill elbow sleeve v-neck tee in the catalog as I quickly flipped through without tossing. I'm not in the market, but it looks like what some of you ladies were searching for and comes in lots of bright colors!

I personally love peasant tee's. Many are low cut as these are, but that is easily enough remedied. I bought 2 beautiful floral light-weight peasant blouses from Mark's Work Wearhouse a couple years ago, but they're not on their site. This was the closest I could come to.
