Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Lissa, I got approval notices for Babylove and a gypsy caravan but not for Heart of the Kitchen. I am not sure what I did wrong.

Gypsy Caravan fell back off the ring too. I think it's a problem with the site ID number in your code--should be 15 for Gypsy Caravan and 16 for Heart of the Kitchen. Babylove is #17 and right now that's what is entered for all three of your blogs.

Do you know how I should fix it? Where do I enter the correct numbers? I think Heart of the Kitchen is not up yet because they have not sent me an approval.

As far as I can tell, the problem is that you are using the same Typelist ("Real Learning Webring") for all three of your blogs. Since each of your sites has a different site id number, you need to have a different Typelist for each blog's code. (Or stick the code at the bottom of an existing Typelist that only appears on one blog, like the Baby Friendly Sites typelist on Babylove--you could stick the code in the notes section of the Diaperaps entry.)

You can cut and paste the same code for all three Typelists, just change the site ID number wherever it appears in the code.

Your site ID # for Gypsy Caravan is 15.

For Heart of the Kitchen, 16.

For Babylove, 17 (which is what is currently in place--that's why Babylove is working and the others aren't).

PM me if this doesn't make sense!

Lissa,

I hope you and babay are well.

I THINK I've added my blog to the web ring - we'll wait and see if I've messed it up instead!

Thanks for the idea and links.

Thanks, Amy.

Now, further questions, my ID number is 37, but the ring numbers end at 30. Is my blog in the queue, Lissa?

Yup, you were in the queue--I just moved you to members, but there seems to still be a glitch somewhere. Your "next" button should take you to Parente Adventures, but it's skipping JoAnna and taking you to my site. Meanwhile, your "previous" button should take you to Leonie's site but instead it takes you to JoAnna's! Can you double check your code? It should be:

Quote:

NEXT: Right Code Should   be:href="http://www.ringsurf.com/net ring?ring=reallearning;i d=37;action=next"

PREV: Right Code Should   be:href="http://www.ringsurf.com/net ring?ring=reallearning;i d=37;action=prev"

(no space between the i and the d of id--I don't know why it's showing up w/ the space here)

Thanks, Lissa! I had a space after ID, so it's working now. Thanks for approving me!

Hey, I don't mind any extra blog traffic, LOL...

The ring is a great idea, Lissa. I'm enjoying cruising it!

Thanks for all the work and help, Lissa.

I hope to fix up things on my blog on the weekend - and also hope to surf the ring!

I just added my new blog in. Boy, there's just lots to do to make it look just right, isn't there? I'm so excited though.

Hi, Leonie,

Here's the code:
<table border=0>
<tr><td>
<div style="{padding: 5px; border: solid 1px #0000aa;}">
<center><b><a href="http://melissawiley.typepad.com/reallearningwebring"&g t;Real Learning Blogs</a></b><br></center>
<a href="http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?ring=reallearning;acti on=addform">Join</a> |
<a href="http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?ring=reallearning;acti on=list">List</a> |
<a href="http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?ring=reallearning;id=1 1;action=prev">Previous</a> |
<a href="http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?ring=reallearning;id=1 1;action=next">Next</a> |
<a href="http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?ring=reallearning;acti on=rand">Random</a> |
<a href="http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?ring=reallearning;id=1 1;action=prev5">Previous 5</a> |
<a href="http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?ring=reallearning;id=1 1;action=next5">Next 5</a> |
<a href="http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?ring=reallearning;id=1 1;action=sprev">Skip Previous</a> |
<a href="http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?ring=reallearning;id=1 1;action=skip">Skip Next</a>
<div align=right><a href="http://www.ringsurf.com/">Powered by RingSurf</a></div>
</div>
</td></tr>
</table>

Although, on my blog I shortened it and used this code:

<table border=0>
<tr><td>
<div style="{padding: 5px; border: solid 1px #0000aa;}">
<center><b><a href="http://melissawiley.typepad.com/reallearningwebring"&g t;Real Learning Blogs</a></b><br></center>
<a href="http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?ring=reallearning;acti on=addform">Join</a> |
<a href="http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?ring=reallearning;acti on=list">List</a> |
<a href="http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?ring=reallearning;id=1 1;action=prev">Previous</a> |
<a href="http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?ring=reallearning;id=1 1;action=next">Next</a> |
<a href="http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?ring=reallearning;acti on=rand">Random</a>
<div align=right><a href="http://www.ringsurf.com/">Powered by RingSurf</a></div>
</div>
</td></tr>
</table>

The trouble with Blogger is that when you change templates, you lose all your customizing, so you might want to copy and paste code, links, etc. onto a Word document before you change the template. Then you can insert them back into your template after changing it.

I hope this helps!

Thanks, Karen! Leonie, you'll need to change the id # in that code. Where it says "id=1" you'll need to change the 1 to 29. Let me know if it works!

Lissa, You are so wonderful! Thank you for doing all of this. So far my blog is sailing smoothly on the ring.

By the way, my dh is SO hoping that you will come to Austin for our conference in a couple of years. He is a lifelong LIW fan and really wants to meet you. Of course, I am hoping you will be able to come, too, but not just because you know so much about Laura.

We are going to try to make it either to Walnut Grove or DeSmet for the pageant this summer. Uh-oh, I am going to get in trouble for posting in the wrong forum if I don't stop.

Anyway, thank you for all of your help with the blogging.

Oops ... I knew I shouldn't have tried to be the voice of blog authority .... I only half-know what I'm doing.
