Target had each season for $13 on Black Friday. I went in the afternoon and our store was still stocked! I only got season 2 since I can watch 1 on Netflix. I wish I had picked it up anyway because it won't be on netflix forever. Dh said he was going to wrap it up for Christmas, but I didn't let him! Watched it last week.

This is so exciting...our local PBS station is sponsoring the first episode of season three, which isn’t being shown until Jan 6th....we get to see that episode at a local theater for free on Dec. 17th!!! HOW COOL IS THAT?

We love, love, love this show! We have watched Season 1 three times, Season 2, twice, and can hardly wait until Season 3! The girls and I loved it! As for "the scene", I just paused right before on the computer, and skipped a little, since I can tell something was going to happen. Other than that, we were ok with it.
We also love Larkrise, Pride and Prejudice (both versions) all Jane Eyres, Persuasion (all versions), and Sense and Sensibility (both modern versions). We also LOVE North and South with Richard Armitage.
That being said, we are also waiting for Season 3 of Sherlock, in summer of 2013. Had to pause once, but we just love the series and Benedict Cumberbatch.
Makes for some great girl bonding time. Bridget

Guess what????
Beginning next Friday, Downton Abbey Series will be aired in Germany!!!! In German, of course, but never the less, I will finally get to know what all of you have been raving about for months!!!! 
You can't believe how pleased I am! Indeed!

Saw the first hour of season three Monday night....it was awesome! Can’t wait until they start showing it on TV in a few weeks...it should be a great season!

I have joined the club!
My soon-to-be son-in-law Michael gave my daughter Devin the first to seasons on DVD for Christmas! Sooooo while I was sick in bed these past 2 days, I watched ALL of them! BAM!
So now I'm pretty much talking with a sultry British accent.
So, who is having a party Sunday?

Me too! Have watched first season and half of second this week (my daughter has been a fan for quite awhile). Have 4 more episodes to watch before Sunday. It has been very fun. And Angie I can't claim to have been doing it while sick - I'm just spending a lot of time when I should be doing something else productive. Anyway my dd is excited that I decided to join in.

I am so computer movie illiterate that I am still trying to figure out 'how' to watch it- my dd has watched all of the episodes at a friend's and really enjoyed it (with a few edits). I tried to download one episode from I-tunes but sort of thought it was pricey per episode...

Which season are you all watching in the US?
Dh and I just finished the first season (in German) before Christmas and we are BOTH hooked! We have to wait a bit for season 2.
As an aside, the German dubbing was done very well! Excellent in fact. And because I have only seen it/heard it in German , that is just fine.

I liked it! Looking forward to next week. I'm torn over Mary and Carson's view on sticking to tradition as everyone around them change their views. What will happen next??!!

Season 3 here in the US. I'm torn too, Cassie. So much fun to see the first episode last night, but we were missing the pause button we had watching season 1 and 2 on Amazon the last few months. (we dropped satellite so no dvr with a pause/record.) No bathroom/check on waking little one breaks! C'mon, Masterpiece! An intermission would be nice in the middle of a 2 hr episode.

Oh, quick question! We had Amazon prime free as a trial during December and so were trying out the instant videos and both season 1 and 2 were free for Prime members. Its expired and we haven't decided to pay for a year or not yet. I just looked and saw that Season 3 episode 1 and 2 (which played as one last night) are up, but I can't see if they are free to prime members at this time or if everyone would have to pay. It would be nice to be able to watch the next day able to pause, but not if we would have to buy them.
So, any prime members, is season 3 included?
