Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

The new season hasn't even started filming and there is a new spoiler today - another cast member leaving....

So- which season was your favorite so far- 1,2 or 3?

Mine was undoubtedly season 2. I thought the characters all grew and changed so much then, plus Richard Carlyle was such a delightful villain.

Also, happy endings are always good

I just realized that one of the ogres from Ella Enchanted is Mr. Carson.

Oh, I saw this too. I'm fine with it though. The article also listed guest cast members to get a little of an idea of things to happen. I'm glad I read it!

Season 2 was my favorite! I was at Sam's Club today and looked at the season 3 dvds for the longest time. I couldn't bring myself to buy it. I guess I'm still upset over season 3.

It's so fun having someone to boo and hiss!

I do love when she is forgiving, as she was of Mosley when she discovered Thomas was the real culprit. I would have enjoyed seeing her character reform!

Agreed. She did repent for some evil in her past and I liked that - but it wasn't complete, and she continued to be really manipulative in her evil.

It will be interesting to see how her employer gets along without her.
How will they write her out, I wonder?

Maybe that will leave JImmy as the new villain, he he he.

Here's something fun ... tonight we watched From Time to Time via Netflix Instant, which stars Maggie Smith. It's a delightful family movie for about 8+, set in a grand old mansion in England. As we are watching the opening credits, I discover that Julian Fellowes is the director. As I continue to watch, I discover 3 more Downton Abbey actors are also in this flick! I won't tell you who ... it's fun to be surprised as you watch!

PBS is showing new episodes from the Secrets of the Manor House series.
The Secrets of Highclere Castle was the first (I think)

I recently watched the episode about Hampton Court on line at the PBS site.
Fascinating- though lots of beheading talk (think Henry VIII) so be warned.

I think I've given up on Downton Abbey. Sigh. But do let me know when it starts up again, if there are storylines worth watching. I don't like it when my favorite characters die, and Sybil and Matthew in the same year was just way too much for me.   I find myself more than .

I can't wait for the next season of Sherlock though.

I feel the same and it seems like the those of my friends that were watching it and loving it feel the same way too. Last year at this time we were trying to find reruns to watch for free and now we just don't care to watch the third season again. I think I'll watch the fourth season, but it would have to be some great stuff to get me back to loving it.

I don't think there is a new one this year, is there? I'm excited about a new Foyle's War series in August, though! Its been several years, and it is one of our favorites!

No, not this year.      I'll check out Foyle's War! Thanks for the suggestion!

I know- I only watched season 3 one time. I think it will still be awhile before I want to go back and watch any of it again

I can only console myself by thinking that it was not the show's writers who wanted to kill off the characters. The actors both wanted out, and Dan Stevens was completely done and wouldn't agree to do any guest appearances.

I'm not sure I would have liked having another actor step in as the new Matthew, and I definitely wouldn't have liked seeing Matthew and Mary divorce, etc.

So maybe it had to be (she says in true soap-opera fashion).

I'm hoping that season 3 was a swing season- the writers patching holes and doing the best they could with what they had- and that maybe season 4 will take up again in the spirit of seasons 1 and 2.

I'm also very interested in the new lines of Downton-styled clothing that are supposed to hit stores this fall. Will they/could they bring back some pretty, modest fashions to our world?

'Cause I'm telling you- this ultra micro shorts fad is one I hope goes away extremely soon....

All the older ones are streaming on Amazon Prime and maybe even Netflix. It is wonderful and one both dh and I enjoy equally

Downton Abbey calendars: link
for 2014 are available on Amazon sometime soon.

You can pick from wall calendar, engagement calendar or page-a-day calendar.

Wouldn't that be a neat Christmas gift for a DA fan?
