Oh, thank you God!!!!! And thank you for the update, Mary!!!!
How wonderful!!!! This cyber auntie is just so thrilled to hear all went well!!!!
Now praying for Chris and family during this time of newborn twins, it can be a little busy and hectic, with not much sleep. I pray that she has lots of willing helpers, and can get good, solid rest in between the many times of nursing!
Many hugs, and prayers! Congratulations Chris and family! What a beautiful Christmas gift!
ETA: I'm sure your little girls are thrilled with the gift of TWO babies. Twins are such a wonderful gift, one we marvel at almost daily.

Thank you all so, so, so very much for your prayers and well wishes! It has been a wonderful, yet difficult week. I was discharged from the hospital today, a few day of complications of preeclampsia. Sadly, we were not able to bring our little girls home with us. They will likely spend the next 4 or 5 days in the Special Care Nursery as they grow and grow and become less and less dependent on the NG tube for feeding. Aside from needing to gain weight, they are doing so, so wonderfully and we are so very grateful for their health! Right from the get-go they were breathing on their own and have not ever needed oxygen, and they are getting so very close to being able to maintain their own body temperature without assistance.
It has been a very, very emotional trying week for me. And as I look to my own recovery, I am carrying my own grievances for my babies road to being able to come home - prayerfully before Christmas.
They were born at 36 wks. 2 days. Baby A, who came second, was the larger of the two, weighing 5 lbs. 1 oz. She is sweet, mellow, and rather delicate in a Grace Kelly sort of way . We've named her Mira Catherine. Baby B, who decidedly came first (without a doctor within ear-shot - I told the nurse that she "was here", but of course the nurse didn't believe me until sweet little Baby B landed on the bed ), how wonderful it was to give birth to my girls by myself ... literally. Anyway, little miss Baby B was the smaller of the two, weighing 4 lbs. 8 oz. Our little spunky girl had to fight for every drop of food she could get after sharing the placenta with her *bigger* sister. Showing all that gumption, we've named her Alix Kaylene. We felt that "Alix" had a bit of an edge to it, and we're quite sure it will suit her well. She's a little fighter and is already showing up her sister at her food intake volume.
... Another wonderful surprise? Our little girls are identical
I'm sad to be here, at home, without them, but will be with them every second I can be, in the nursery.
Prayers for all of us would be appreciated. ... especially for my three little girls at home, who long for me to be here and with them. Not coming and going. They just don't understand all of this.
Merry Christmas to you all. I won't likely be on the boards very much in the weeks to come.
... holding you all in prayer as we wait in joyful hope...
(I guess I can officially change my signture line now.. yeah!)
